Thank you aloof I really enjoyed that. I may even turn the sound on next time. Seriously there was a classical girls group over here whose name escapes me (as do most of mt thoughts). The only problem is the acts distracts me from the music. Maybe that is the idea, or maybe they should only be watched by youngsters.

Having just discovered Nightwish of the Tarja Turunen era I have to put them no 1 closely followed by Within Temptation, and Tarja's own solo band which I saw in October in London.

I wish I knew more, but I had the chance to see Apocalyptica with Dir En Grey live and I thought they were amazing! I would never have otherwise listened to their music but it was lucky that I stayed for their set ;)

If you like symphonic rock/metal you can listen to Teodasia. if you go to www.teodasia.com you can download a track that will be included in their album with Fabio Lione of Rhapsody. I heard the song and it's very good

Many of these bands don't fit under the Symphonic genre so I'm going to follow suite. [Links to my favourite song from each band]

1)VERSAILLES (sorry for Caps but it needed to be done) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_jIyhCtb4c - The best guitar solos ever.
2)Nightwish http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VF0BlXP-0Y - Powerful; shame there is no Tarja
3)Kamelot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNfEOwMZMmU - I personally like Kamelot's ballad type song's but this is a bit of both. (My favourite is Can you remember but...)
4)Dream Theater (I know they are Progressive) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kAdLiizR-4 - 42mins of good and not so special but... enjoy.
5)Evergrey (Again Progressive) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yOjQlha1h4 - Starts of soft and sad but progresses in to a very anger song.
6)Sonata Arctica (Power?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1zkXdqcajk - I like their Fade to Black cover but I'm sure everyone has heard that enough.
7)Epica Vhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dys1_TuUmI4 - Good voices... The chanting is nice.
8)Apocalyptica http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gG6pRNHEjNg - Yes, there isn't a better vocalist than Kyo. Although (sadly) there isn't a studio version with him. Kyo is from the progressive Metal band 'Dir en grey' if you want more of his Godly Vocals.
9)Manowar (Power Metal) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1woxkraClg
10)Matenrou Opera http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTujw-h9sos&feature=related - He has a very elegant and delicate voice but the screams sound ******* pure evil.

Well, I know there will be plenty of bands I missed but the first three are sealed in concrete.

Versailles are just pure amazing.

Please, I have to mention the as-yet-untitled Frederik Magle.
Have you guys heard him set up in the airport hanger with the airplane, a video here somewhere?
Even by himself, Frederik Magle creates more interest than many bands can,
and watching him, he's hitting it, even if he doesn't have bass pedals like Geddy Lee,
or using home entertainment organ bass pedals on top of his keys, say, like the first The Doors.
I take advantage of every resource, and we're all just users here.

Apologies ost fire metal

Hey!!This band is ApologieS Symphonic Metal Band:

Biography:

300 million years ago, before water nourished the flesh, and air life; an eruption in the skies, a paroxysm of great misfortune, prompted by the eternal fire; the great stellar king; from the sense of the existence the planets were born, and from that divine gesture a light was given to five stones…

Five stones were discovered, five gems in their uppermost magnificence, inscribed with a symbol, a message and an element. Guided by the glimmering sun. By the moon’s icy light the stones were overshadowed in different parts of the world.

Five were chosen by the father time; their paths intertwined to uncover the meaning of five pieces, five keys with a single objective; the unique matter. The crucial element to unearth the origin of existence. Everything that you ask yourselves has an answer.

The truth, sought out by the dark’s wrath. As despicable as death, and as defiant as good judgment; resentment and greed, melted with a single end. Conquer matter and thus untie ancient cataclysm.

"Oceans of Time" are a fantastic Symphonic Metal Band! ""Oceans of Time" was created in 2005 by Guitarist Lazz Jensen. They've shared stage with some pretty big names. The Debut Album, "Faces" is a Superb Compilation of some of the best Symphonic Metal I've ever heard. Just a fantastic Album that can be found here: http://melodicrevolutionrecords.com/album/faces Let me know what you think about it.
