Rhapsody, Therion, Helloween and Nightwish - fantastic four![]()
Many of these bands don't fit under the Symphonic genre so I'm going to follow suite. [Links to my favourite song from each band]
1)VERSAILLES (sorry for Caps but it needed to be done) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_jIyhCtb4c - The best guitar solos ever.
2)Nightwish http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VF0BlXP-0Y - Powerful; shame there is no Tarja
3)Kamelot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNfEOwMZMmU - I personally like Kamelot's ballad type song's but this is a bit of both. (My favourite is Can you remember but...)
4)Dream Theater (I know they are Progressive) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kAdLiizR-4 - 42mins of good and not so special but... enjoy.
5)Evergrey (Again Progressive) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yOjQlha1h4 - Starts of soft and sad but progresses in to a very anger song.
6)Sonata Arctica (Power?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1zkXdqcajk - I like their Fade to Black cover but I'm sure everyone has heard that enough.
7)Epica Vhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dys1_TuUmI4 - Good voices... The chanting is nice.
8)Apocalyptica http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gG6pRNHEjNg - Yes, there isn't a better vocalist than Kyo. Although (sadly) there isn't a studio version with him. Kyo is from the progressive Metal band 'Dir en grey' if you want more of his Godly Vocals.
9)Manowar (Power Metal) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1woxkraClg
10)Matenrou Opera http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTujw...eature=related - He has a very elegant and delicate voice but the screams sound ******* pure evil.
Well, I know there will be plenty of bands I missed but the first three are sealed in concrete.
Versailles are just pure amazing.
Well, I found this band that's kind of melodeath with some great orchestration check this out!

Old Within Temptation and Nightwish with Tarja - it was so great!
Please, I have to mention the as-yet-untitled Frederik Magle.
Have you guys heard him set up in the airport hanger with the airplane, a video here somewhere?
Even by himself, Frederik Magle creates more interest than many bands can,
and watching him, he's hitting it, even if he doesn't have bass pedals like Geddy Lee,
or using home entertainment organ bass pedals on top of his keys, say, like the first The Doors.
I take advantage of every resource, and we're all just users here.
Did you now that some of the best heavy metal comes from Norway?hehe
