    Some very sublime choral music...

Ya gotta check this vid out - Durufle did not leave behind much music before he entered the Church Eternal in 1986. He aimed for perfection and was extremely self-critical but that which he left wth us is timeless:

Gregorio Allegri wrote "Miserere Mei" (Have Mercy On Me Lord) and it likewise transcends time:

One other piece that will pass through the ages is Palestrina's "Sicut Cervus":

Robert Parson's setting of "Ave Maria" does wonders for the ravaged soul.

A short survey like this could be completed with Franz Biebl's "Ave Maria" - sweetly interpreted by Chanticleer:

*If a man wants God to hear his prayer quickly, then before he prays for anything else, even his own soul, when he stands and stretches out his hands towards God, he must pray with all his heart for his enemies. Through this action God will hear everything that he asks* -Abba Zeno-

*Socrates: "My opinion is: Truth is absolute, not opinion, and that you are in absolute error. Since this is my opinion, then according to your philosophy you must grant that it is true."
