I finally picked up Fr. Owen Lee's Wagner's Ring- Turning the Sky Round.
I'd previously hesitated because I read the same author's First Intermissions, and discovered that he didn't have the measure of Tannhäuser. I've subsequently decided that's okay- lots of folks (e.g.: Thomas May, too) trip up on Tannhäuser.
One day I'm going to write an essay and sort it out for everyone- I'll probably post it over in this spot.
