@teddy, He is one of my favorite actors, and he seems like a decent guy in real life. Please let me know should you discover otherwise after reading his biography.

Will do Steve, although as it is an auto biog I doubt it. have you seen HARRY BROWN, which I believe is his last film. Some really beautifull acting in it not to mention some of the direction and photography. Worth a watch

@Teddy, No, I haven't but as long as I can order it from Netflix, I'll have a go at it. Thanks. Enjoy your book! I still rember him with much fondness in the movie The Man Who Would Be King {based on a Rudyard Kipling story} in which he played poor Peachie Carnahan. Along with Sean Connery, Michael Caine has always been one of my favorite actors.

I believe he made one before called Gambit. His first hit I think was THE IPCRESS FILE a brilliant book by Len Deighton. These were the days of John Steed and The Avengers so they decided to make it jokey and in my opinion completely ruined a good story. They did the same with Modesty Blaise, another series of books I enjoyed. Caine was actually tried for the part of the Welsh corporal in Zulu, and got the shared lead by the skin of his teeth.

No, Teddy, I haven't, so perhaps that will be next, as I am really "getting into" this guy's writing. The only other work by him which I had previously read was The Man In The HIgh Castle, and it left me completely confused. But I did see the movie Blade Runner quite a few times, and was very impressed with its storyline and imagery.

CASTAWAY by Lucy Irvine A couple deliberately maroon themselves on a desert island for a year. I believe her male "husband" also wrote an account of their time there but I have not been able to trace it
