the 6th and final variation of Xmas choral

    Hi ladies and gents.
I will no more bother you with my Xmas choral for organ.
Here is the 6th variation. I promise you it is the last one.
This organ work ends with a great choir in F major.
+ Anches means : add reeds (or brass) I don't know how you call this stops family in English.
I dedicate it to Frederik Magle to thank him for his forum and its lot of friends it brings to me.
Soon, I"ll merge for you the choral and the six variations in only on book.

    MP3 : http://musicalis.monespace.net/autres/img534a.mp3
    PDF score : http://musicalis.monespace.net/autres/img535a.pdf

Please, allow me to post this small poll to know what piece you prefer. It is just for fun, anyway, I'll not delete any variation, even if you do not like them.
As usual, I am waiting for any feedback. If you play this piece, please send me a picture of your church, a small video, or a MP3 recorded with your organ sound.... thanks.

    Friendly
    Jean-Paul

    Hi Jean-Paul,

I love the whole work - choral and variations. Why do you feel that you are bothering people on this forum? Have any threats been mentioned or written? Maybe those who think that you are a nuisance are themselves so creatively-challenged that they can't produce anything, so, therefore they engage in assassinating other peoples creativity. Don't give them the time of day - they are laggards and slough-offs who leech on others.

    Respectfully yours,

    Corno Dolce

p.s. I would have voted if you would have included "The Whole Work* as a vote option.

    Hi Corno - Dolce !
    Thanks for your gentle sentences.
Don't worry, nobody told me that the choral is boring. It's only a french joke. I wrote it because my variations have been posted in several "packages".

For the poll, it is too late, I cannot change the options, but I am sure one variation seems to your ears of great musician better than an other. In spite I wrote the "whole work" I prefer the 6th variation..... and I go to vote.
    Friendly yours. Jean-Paul

    Hi Jean-Paul,

This is a really tough decision you're putting to us. If people don't vote, it's because they can't make up their minds and can't bear to see any variation lose. I'm voting now--but it's possible that I'd cast a different ballot tomorrow.

Jean-Paul - a terrific summation of all the other chorales in this 6th movement.

In the US we refer to "Anches" as, believe it or not, "Anches". Our word is Reed, but since we are all taught the French, German and Italian for these musical directions in our universities, the terms are generally understood.

But it is good that you explain as there may be some that are not familiar with the term.

Frederik will be elated knowing that this piece was dedicated to him. That was a very thoughtful gesture on your part ... I'll send him a note about this special posting.

    Hello J.P.

Thank you for merging all the variations and the choral together as a .pdf - Nice cover-art work.

    Jean-Paul,

Beautiful cover art work ... wonderful to have the entire work in book form like this. Although I don't yet have a portable digital recording device (it's coming for Xmas, though) I have begun to practice and learn the entire work and early next year, after my annual concert in January, I will try to record it and get this to you. I do plan on using some of the variations during Advent or Christmas this year at my church, and of course, will give you proper credit as the composer in my monthly church newsletter article.
