Bye to everyone! I discovered this great communication tool.
There are a lot of many intersting arguments and threads and probably I cannot review all of them in a short time..

I'm a Pipe organ entusiast and, with some friends, I joined a committe in order to make real our old dream: have a great, monumental organ inspired to ancient Francois Dom Bedos rules.. now this dream is becoming real, and I invite you to visit our site :):)

http://www.organosandomenicorieti.it

And I hope if someone of this forum could visit us really to enjoy with our future great organ.
Our purpose is absolutely no profit and we want organize music festivals, organ festivals, masters activities and so on...

See you later, guys!
Please, replay me for your impressions about our "mad" :D organ projects..

Hi , Wellcome.

I have visited a part of your site. NIce project.
I love pipe organ too. When I was 15 years old, I have had the pleasure to read the two volumes of Dom françois Bedos de Celles. Not a copy, but the original books, in the "bibliothèque municipale" of Bordeaux.
Now, retired, I am a composer for pipe organ music. You can see/hear some of my works in the Magle pipe organ forum or in my web site.
I'll be very glad to work a little with you.
Friendly
:) Jean-Paul :)

Thank you to everyone for your welcome, again.
Dear Jean Paul, I read only a italian traslation of Art du Facteur d'Orgue, and I find it really "modern"; infact the chapters about Organ "final testing" documents and how to write a good project are really interesting.
We are very lucky to have in Italy a rare Organ Builder, Bart. Formentelli; he works absolutely following the rules explained on DomBedos, with a reasonable price...
The work is complex : he prepare every pipe by manual stain "processing", refining the stain parts with hammer, and finally assembly it with rebuilded ancient tools.
He seems quite "mad" on today industrial society, but the Organ builded from this artist sometimes seems ancient!
Obviously, this organ is more difficult to be played, but performing music 5-keyboard full mechanical organ with original french pedal will be a great experience for any
musicians!
Many organist are writing to me in order to organize concerts.
I'm happy to answer everyone and to organize any kind of event on our Dom Bedos Organ, depending of financial situation.. :)
Bye !

What a beautiful organ! I love to look at big pipe organs like that.
This one is so beautiful. I love pipe organs because I play one to
learn how to play a pipe organ. The one I play is rather small in
comparison. I have a picture of it under my name. By the way,
Welcome to the forum!

Hi, Judy! Believe me.. playing a full-mechanical organ it is a wondeful experience. The italian-french organ builded Formentelli make a warm and ancient Pipe tuning.. so the founds and fliutes are soft and hot, really fantastic.. the Organ sound is ancient, the reeds are strong.. the only way to understand it it is playng and hear it.
Playng a great classical mechanical organ is "strange". The console is near the Positiv, and the player cannot be seen from the "assemblea" or from church visitors.. You are inside the sound!

To be a feeling comparison, I could say : playng a electrical-traction organ with "industrial" pipes vs playing a mechanical-well tuned organ is quite as : I'm riding a "scooter with automatic gear" vs "I'm riding a Ducati 1098 superbike with open exaust pipe"...
Sorry if this comparison is quite hazardous.. but the feeling is very similar.. after 1/2 hours electrical organ playng, I want go down from it.

Thank you again for your welcome
I cannot see well the organ photo under your name. If I click over it , a impressive building appears!

Bye from Center Italy, guys!

If you have seen on our site the five keyboards layout, you can understand what would is my whish to play it..:):)

Bye from Center Italy, guys!

That impressive building that appears is the church that houses the organ.
This is my church!

Guys! My church is a historical place too! I wished some of you could come
to Madisonville,Ky. and give us Methodists a visit! The church building on the
inside is more beautiful than just what you see in the picture of the outside.
It has like you see stained glass windows,a beautiful pipe organ, some of the
pews are antique, and hanging chandeliers. Oops I didn't spell that right!
The place if it were any bigger would be considered a cathedral in my book.
I fell in love with that place the moment I stepped into the front door. Wow!
This Methodist church was built in 1928. The part that you see in the
picture. You though don't see the jeweled lamps outside the doors. The
flags are hiding them.

Hey Judy, I am sure that it is a beautiful historic place and I do want to go visit cool and interesting places like that around US. The reason i was asking dombedos about historical places in Italy is because I am going there very soon.
