    Hello Intet,

Yes, I do admire Kenneth Branagh in the films in which he has acted and in which he has directed.

    Cheers,

It's not really a movie but, I watched the video "Land of confusion" by
Disturbed. It is disturbing how this old world is getting. It will make
you think and stir up emotions you didn't know you had.

short clip of it and I was balling. Yes! I'm that soft hearted.

I agree with you, Judy ...

We went to see it in a movie house ... there was not a dry eye in the house when the film ended - everyone sat there right through all the movie credits trying to regain their composure before leaving.

I would like to see it again ... but not until after Easter ... Hopefully it is on DVD in full screen mode.

    Hi Intet,

I saw the movie when it came out in 1991. Methinks the answer to your question lies in this posted link below. Open the link and scroll to the bottom of the page. You will see a long reply by Parry:

I'm still crying over the passion movie. I can't get it out of my head.
My little walk to church in snow knee deep is such a small sacrifice
comparing to what he did for us. Who am I to complain over cold

Thank you dear friend Corno Dolce

As always Here-There-and-Everywhere. What would I do without you to guide me. Great story and explanation.

For a minute, when I watched the ending of the picture, I thought the name "Fisher King" somehow had something to do with the childrens toy, placed between the two of the leading actors Robin W. and Jeff B., while completely naked on the ground.

Forever grateful to you compadre, Corno Dolce

    Dear Br. Intet,

I'm overjoyed that I could be of service to you. You mentioned children's toys - well, that would be the company entitled Fisher-Price.

    Cheers,

Corno Dolce - More hilarius than ever: Fisher-Price However, I do know of this company Fisher-Price, who had a great success with the younger ones in the ages for kindergarden back in the late 1970´s in Denmark. Unfortunately the Fisher-Price company, priced the toys as high as the Danish Lego, which was not a success with the customers, the parents like me, who had bewildered myself into one of these stores, where you as a father become a victim of all the fancy toys, having your children with you.

Never bring children to a toy store or fathers, who are not grown up for real.

    Hi Intet,

There is/was a toy store in mid-town Manhattan called FAO Schwartz - you definitely did not want to bring your children to that store - they would get lost in amazement at all the toys - some of the toys were REALLY expensive and you didn't want to have your kid break them - it would break your bank account 5 ways from Sunday.

Back on topic: The film entitled Dr. Zhivago.

    Cheers,

It´s like in our shopping centres, when you´re there on a friday evening shortly before they close at the end of the working week (public offices, schools and kindergardens are closed on saturdays). When you finally think you´re done, and you got it all for the next week in the car on four wheels in front of you, then you move and stand in line at the tiller machine.

But you´re not done, you only think you´re done. Because, right there waiting in line to pay for all the goods on both sides of the tiller machine they have put all the candy in the world, and your children suddenly quite awake and interested: Oh dad, please can we have.....A living night mare, while waiting to pay for all the goods you realy don´t need, and then at the end they have put all the candy. Clever guys, knowing that children looooove candy, and at this time you simply don´t even bother to recist, so you just put the candy on top of the mountain of other not candy goods.

Lesson: Always encourage your wife, maid/butler or lover to take care of all shopping centres on a friday night, you only have to mention the word - equallity I make the money, you my dear wife spend it - eqaullity in the marriage.

Now I'd heard a lot of comments about the disjointed nature of the way in which the film tells the story of Edith Piaf, and I watched in expectation of finding it at least slightly annoying or distracting, but this really wasn't the case at all. I felt that it was entirely coherent.

Very moving towards the climax, you really get a sense of what created the intensity behind Piaf's singing.

Marion Cotillard is superb in the role of Piaf – it would be very surprising if, at the very least, she doesn't get Oscar nominated next spring.

And the music, of course, is just wonderful.
