    A composition of mine

In order to introduce myself in a bit more detail, here is a little work which I initially wrote for harpsichord (in reality for keyboard instruments in general), but I recorded it on organ this time, just out of curiosity and just to give the organ people here an idea of what I like.
I called it 'Invention and Fughetta'. I decided to call the 2nd part fughetta rather than fugue as it has a less strict form and uses more free imitations.
I recorded it using Nuendo 3 and MyOrgan, with the Ott organ.
The original recording (harpsichord, with the sheet music) can be found here: http://www.sibeliusmusic.com/cgi-bin...?scoreid=42673 . You can also find some of my other compositions on Sibeliusmusic.
    Please give me some feedback.

    Dear friend

Your music is very nice. I listened to it several times with great pleasure.
I think it could be interessant to exchange some ideas because we do the same things.
For instance I also use MyOrgan for composing my organ music. I know quite well MyOrgan ODF (definition files) and I can help you to build your virtual organ, adding tremolo or new stops to Ott organ. But I do not know what is Nuendo 3.

You can help me too by explaining how you get such a natural reverb sound. I am able to add reverb in real time using an hardware device (Alesis quadraverb), but I don't know how to add reverb (in real time) by software to the audio signal inside my PC computer. In non real time ( for instance when I have recorded a wave file (*.wav) from MyOrgan, I use Audacity to add reverb, but it is not realistic.
I hope to hear from you soon.
    Friendly.

    Hello Jean-Paul,
Thank you and Contratrombone for your nice comments.
Well, Jean-Paul, Nuendo is a studio program, made by Steinberg (also the makers of Cubase). This is what I used to add the reverb. As I said, I used MyOrgan and I used the small Ott organ, which I downloaded here: http://orgel.datzko.ch/. I just imported my music as a MIDI file, then used the Ott organ for the sound source and then I recorded it as audio. I then added the reverb with one click of the mouse (Nuendo comes with lots of plugins for effects and virtual instruments 'et tout ├ža' (and all that in English) which you can add to your mix). So I added the reverb of a small church (you can select all kinds of reverb in Nuendo), and when that was finished I exported the audio as an .mp3 file. Normally the Quadraverb is a good machine for echo and reverb, isn't it? But there are quite a few programs which can add great effects to your music, eg. Goldwave: http://www.goldwave.com/ this is a nice little program with which you can do a lot. But, of course, the good thing about programs like Nuendo and Cubase is that you have it all in one, recording, editing, mixing, effects etc.

I am always willing to exchange some ideas with you, and, having said that, I do have certain problems with MyOrgan, I don't know whether to explain it here or open a separate topic for it, but I think it will be best if I discuss it separately in its own place.
OK, that's how I did it in a nutshell, if you need further ideas or explanations, do not hesitate to get in touch.
I'll explain the MyOrgan problem in a different topic.

    Frankie.

    Hi mrfdes,

Very nice composition. I have a good number of harpsichord books from my college days ... it's amazing how well most of them adapt for the organ. This one of yours is no acception. Keep up the great work.
