The good ol' days ...

I'm a Mac user (but don't hold that against me, please!).

Anyone remember the good old days before System X came along and Mark of the Unicorn sold "Professional Composer"?

Oh how I miss it ...

I used to have an iBook (that kind you see in movies in 2000-2001) but I had to sell it. Maintaining costs too much and I don't have that money. BTW, the iBook was given. Bought a PC instead. The Mac's really good. No worry for any virus. :)

Hi CT64,

I'm also a MAC user - used IBM since 1981 - with windows since 1995 - changed over to MAC in 2005 and have never regretted it.

Cheers,

CD :):):)

I've used Mac's b4 on layout stuff. At one time I did some work typesetting music on the mac. Very powerful graphics machines. I wouldn't mind having one now...

Been a mac user since -91 along side pc's. When working at a pro music level, using several different studios, it became apparent that Mac had to a large degree the lion share of the market within the music industry. Cross platform integration is a somewhat new thing where as you only have to back the tape a couple of years and you were bound to have a mac if you were going to do work at home, continue in one studio, do some more editing and stuff at home and move to the next studio. These days, Pc's have started to emerge in but Mac is still more common.. maybe it is mainly to do with bus speeds and the inherent dislike for window's architecture when using a computer for a task like audio.

I still use mac for music and have a pc for games and other leisure.

NEB,
yeah..that comes with the territory of being a full time musician/producer, dabbling mainly in contemporary music. Have about 50 albums or so (I've lost count LOL, some were not memorable sessions ha ha ha) as a musician/session player and a further 18 with producer credits (not playing myself, producing others) behind me in my career.

Cool. Something I always wanted to get into but never did. I did do a fair bit of session work in the early years, but I guess it was a little different back thenin the stone age.

Main instrument is anything with black and white keys.. mainly piano, rhodes, synths and hammond organ.. but I also play bass. If you like, you can hear me play (extracts from my career) here: www.myspace.com/hawkanmanderstedt
listen to keyworx 1 and 2 .. the other tracks are producer examples (although, I do play on most of those too....
