Does anyone see music in colors?

A great deal of famous people, ranging from musicians to mathematicians to writers were thought to have synesthesia because of certain expressions in their writings, but it was never possible to establish with any degree of certainty if those sentences were actually referring to synesthesia or merely metaphorical expressions. (for instance pythagorean expression "music of the spheres")

As to seeing music in colour? Yeah, if I listen to another performance of that (imho) morbid and boring "Symphony of Sorrowful Songs" I'll surely see red.

It could be assumed then that most quotations or statements referring to claims or incidences of synesthesia are merely colorful metaphorical constructions since they haven't been tested in a scientific environment.

I think you'll find work has been done in this area, I just can't remember my source, but I saw a program on Fox once about people who heard colours, or smelled textures, or felt visions.

You might be referring to the same program I watched before. Too bad I can't remember what it was except I viewed it either from Discovery Channel or National Geographic.

How I wish I could experience just that without resorting to drugs.

Very interesting article. I had no idea composers and scientists had studied and built different machines to show the connection between colour and music.

Btw. I want to thank you for being so modest today. Unlike last sunday also 50 minutes ahead of the sunday sermon. Could you please tell me Meistro, when does one spell "color" as color and when colour with the "u"?

Britishers include the letter "u" as in colour, whilst the Yanqui's omit the letter "u" in the word "color".

Please alowe me to make one personal point on behalf of our common 1 month and 6 days incredible close friendship and respect, with absolutely no comparison in the written Danish/Oceanian humor. The only issue between us, we don´t seem to be able to agree in, obviously - Telepathy below the heavens across the Atlantic ???

Depending on how you define "telepathy", which should not be misunderstood for "leprousy" I never said that . You compadre alone would now be able to agree to disagree if it has ever realy worked between us - the telepathy. Of course I know better being much older and experienced in worlly and spiritual affairs, but then I never believed in coincidences neither.

Btw. I have never in my disputable life the past thirtyfive years met a man in Denmark or at Roxy or Elsewhere around Europe, who were so fond of the Standards Trio as myself.......Coincidence you will say. Right!! I won´t mention the word "telepathy" anymore post this post, it seems to worry you, leaving you in your illeterate unspiritual, however much better in spelling than I - world. i'm not a scholar in neurophysiology, but loved to study philosophy of mind. and somehow i came to the idea, that neurons- let's say in the visual cortex - trigger (or may do that) neurons in other areas responsible for audio or even taste experiences. while it is more or less obvious with audio/visual case (because of so much visual information, audio being second one),i don't rule out the possibility that smell could be described (and experienced) in terms of visual or sound experiences. i think of a brain being very intermingled - like a little butterfly wing move in africa causing hurricane in america. so i think it more natural than an oddity to experience sound in colors and vice versa.
that's my humble opinion on such a great topic.
and - i presume - one could have direct/one to one note/colour relation or/and sound pattern-chord-any sound sequence/colour/s relation.
maybe even more.
