Only 5 minutes ago Denmark won the European Men's Handball Championship 2008. Normally I'm not all that into watching sports, but I did watch the the end of the European finale (as well as the second half of semifinals yesterday). Very exciting and both teams played excellently and would have been worthy winners, but of course the team I was rooting for won (yay! :trp:) ;). With that said I also wish to say congratulations to the Croatians for playing so well and winning silver.

This was a historical victory for the Danish men's handball team as it was the first time in 41 years Denmark reached the finals and he first time ever to win gold. Also, quite extraordinarily, the team's coach Ulrik Wilbek was coach for the Danish Ladies Handball team when they won gold in the European Championships back in 1994, the Summer Olympics 1996 and the World Championships in 1997. Back then the men's team were in an abysmal state. Then in 2005 Wilbek became coach for the men's handball team and now they've won gold, so it's quite clear that he deserves a lot of credit.

A fun fact; the rules for the modern day game of team handball was actually drawn up by a Dane named Holger Nielsen in 1898, so in a sense the game played today was "invented" in Denmark, and yet the Danish men's team has never won a gold medal in an international handball tournament - until today that is.

Hi Frederik

WE ARE RED - WE ARE WHITE - WE ARE DANISH DYNAMITE :tiphat::clap::guitar::wave::nut::banana::trp::up::whistle::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:. Right on Denmark!!!

However our women in handball, U-la-la. They have won it all. Funny thing though the male coach for years from the Danish national women´s handball team ULRIK VILBÆK changed sides a couple of years ago. I guess he wanted the challence to bring the Danish national handball team for men to the top as well. While doing his honors to Denmark the guy even played it as a politician as well in the city of Viborg, being married to the former women´s national handball keeper. One could honestly say, this guy loves handball.

Well done Denmark and ULRIK VILBÆK :tiphat::tiphat::tiphat::tiphat::tiphat::tiphat:.

Oh thank you dear Muza, touched.

When one is used to spend a lot of time on the benches in a sports arena as the world known Danish - Roligans, which is about 180 degrees opposite from Hooligans, then I feel happy on behalf of the men on our national team in handball that they finaly succeeded all the way and won.

It´s been such a relentless barrier for years, they could not cross.

About the cheerleader. I have known better looking cheerleaders in my life, but coming from you Muza dear, privately blushing .
