Btw, this year marks the 50th anniversary of the Grammys.

Simon Rattle's Brahms Requiem surely deserves an award.Rattle came up with one of the most enjoyable recordings of this great piece. It is very surprising because i am not usually a fan of Rattle, especially in German repertoire. However it is to compete against Riccardo Muti's account of Cherubini's Missa Solemnis which is also a very fine effort.Playing of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra is wonderful as always and Muti is probably the most sympathetic conductor to Cherubini,a firebrand in Italian repertoire.
So i will await the winner of that catagory to be announced, eagerly

I'm with Kromme - Rattle's rendition of Brahms "Ein Deutsches Requiem" deserves an award. Personally, I think its worth the Gold Prize.
