Hi All, I am a self taught organist. I had a few lesson to assist with the fingering and after that passed my grade 2. I enjoy organ music because it is good for my soul. I enjoy buying new-/ second hand organ books. I also enjoy downloading free organ music. My heart is open to advice, please inspire me more, i am willing to learn.

I am an organist in my home congregation. I would like to thank you all in advance for inspiring me.

    Greetings,
    Gregory

    Hello Gregory,

Welcome aboard the Starship MIMF where everyone is a star. I really enjoy Capetown S.A. with the Table Mountain as a backdrop and the plethora of activities one can engage in. Please do make yourself feel right at home in our small corner of the Galaxy and stay for a spell.

    Cheers

    Corno Dolce

What kind of organ do you play on at your church?

    Hi Greg,

Not familiar with that name/brand. I'm assuming it's an electronic keyboard with many preset sounds ... who makes this instrument?

I know the feeling, usually if I walk into a music shop and ask for organ music they look at me as if I'm from another planet.

Deevee's music in Bloem is prepared to order most music on demand (assuming you know what your looking for that is). There is a music shop in Pretoria that do stock organ music, at a price, they supply the music students at Unisa, I'll try and get their web address for you.

I also have some music that I downloaded from the internet and/or bought on e-bay. If you're looking for something specific, let me know and I'll see if it's on one of the virtual books.

Hi Johan, I use to order organ books directly from the shops overseas but now with the rand getting weaker, it is becoming a problem especially with the custom service. I ordered me a pair of organ shoes last year from Organ masters for $50 (that time +-R300). The first time the shoes arrived I collected it from the post office. unfortunately for me I had to ship it back for a bigger size. I had to pay customs tax the second time the shoes came into the country. When I asked the why, they said "because it is the first time shoes like this comes into the country"... so i had to pay another R198 to get my shoes.

I will really appreciate if you can forward me the web address. I will be away in JHB from late afternoon Sat.

Have a good weekend... enjoy the rugby.
