    Musical Quotes Thread

Being inspired by the Jokes thread (and uninspired equally by the word association thread). I've got this idea for sharing amusing quotes (name the quote and name your source). So I'll start

Mr Adams has done for the arpeggio what McDonald's did for the hamburger
--New York Times on composer John Adams

Madam, you've got between your legs, an instrument capable of bringing pleasure to many. Yet you sit there and scratch it ...
---Sir Malcolm Sargent (I think) to a cellist in an Australian orchestra

    Hi CT64,

    That one is pretty vile

Almost as bad as this one: "The sound of a harpsichord is like the sound of two skeletons copulating on a hot tin roof".

    - Sir Thomas Beecham -

    Cheers,

    CD

I usually say it and I'm a musician myself. Not all quotes come from such
famous people. I just say it from my own heart. Discover what your heart
    can hold.

I am not handsome, but when women hear me play, they come crawling to my feet. Said by Niccolo Paganini.
