What do you enjoy doing in the spring and summer? I like to take walks,
visit my local church which is almost my neighbor or I might as well.,and
go to the downtown celebration on the first weekend of the summer months.
What do you guys like to do since I'm sick of winter. Let me know some
    thing about it.

Well as the weather gets warmer, I like to get out in the fresh air.

Just to enjoy a bit of sunshine, and to enjoy the beautiful flowers. All round here there are loads of daffodils. Just as the hymn says "when spring unlocks the flowers to paint the laughing soil."

There does seem to be more going on in the warmer months, but I still like to listen to my music and read a good book.

In the springtime I especially like being outdoors ... and when driving about town have all the windows and sunroof wide open ... the coolness of spring doesn't last too long here and soon turns into the blistering summer heat.

Typically, we have two major seasons in the high desert: Summer & Summer

Hmm, I love to ride a bike and as soon as the spring is on - bike becomes my main mean of transport. I go everywhere by bike. It's good for one's health cause you can get to breathe fresh air and get some exsercise (in my case it's quite a lot; I usually do about 50 kilometres per day).

This summer I also would like to go to Canada to visit my family. But this plan probably won't work out.

I also like to swimm a lot. Especially that we have beautiful seaside here in Poland.

Springtime this year, began yesterday when Shcockleberry came running in from the garden. He pointed with his fingers to the garden speechless. So outside, we saw the first yellow tulips and some purple ones of unknown origin, Iīve never seen - all blossom in my garden to the north.

The birds yesterday morning at 04 AM, when I was awaken were singing louder than the day before yesterday, which is always a good sign of the spring time. And the sun actually shined, bright and proud and welcomed us for the new season in the sky. In Denmark we have 4 seasons, each of them impossible to predict according to the weather.

Springtime personally to me, when it arrives is like everything begins again, everything is new, post a long and very awful wet autumn and winter, when itīs hard to find any pedestrians smiling and even Christmas seems hollow and empty because the usual lack of snow (thinking of rojo shoveling snow).

Springtime is the season where we move all the garden furniture outside again, it is the season, where we put our wrist watches backwards one hour awaiting the Summertime Blues. So the day begin one hour earlier, which means we get out of bed (some of us) one hour earlier.

We smile again and soon we have forgotten the realy wet autumn and the winter time. We all put away the sweaters, the skiing equipment, we didnīt use this year either, the overcoats, the Wellington boots and the umbrella (however not far in this country), and the days themselves get longer, which means the ones of us, who just canīt wait for the summer to arrive have the first barbaque parties, meeting friends and neighbours, smiling to each other - even if we have to stay in an empty garage, or get back inside my mansion to stay warm at night.

Everything outside in our common nature blossoms, reborn in all the colours of the rainbow, and then some, and the problems we all had during the winter seems to decrease in the springtime, most likely in Denmark because of many more sunny hours.

Springtime is the best season, when itīs spring. When the summer arrives, the summertime is the best season and so forth.

    Hi Ms. Margaret,

Which hymn is that where you have that phrase "When Spring Unlocks The Flowers To Paint The Laughing Soil" - really quite eloquent.

    Cheers,

I love to sit outside and enjoy the warm sunshine that I haven't had in
months during the winter while drinking my coffee and eating my breakfast.
That gets me warmed up for the day is the good ole sunshine on my face.

    Hello Ms. Margaret,

Thank you ever so much for sharing more info about that hymn. Ya know, even before I wrote my query to you I had this suspicion that Ralph Vaughn Williams would have had something to do with this hymn - sure enough, it was so.

    Humbly,

    Hello Corno dolce

You are welcome, I used to love singing that hymn. I love the image of flowers springing up and painting the laughing soil. All this morning I had the tune in my head.

I sure hope so, Judy. Thanks for the encouraging words.

The weather service calls for another snowstorm on Wed.

    Well rojo

Youīre just gonnaī hang in there , it will end sooner than you think, when temperatures rise. I know this will not help you much having to shovel snow every day. But the good part is, weīre fast into March and thereīs a light at the end of the snow-tunnel, even in Canada. So keep your spirits high, springtime in Canada will reach you too soon.

It's not spring where I come from Judy ... it's now autumn (fall) and winter is approaching. However, it's my favourite time as summers in Australia are (generally) too hot and humid ... at least in Sydney where I'm from. I love autumn and winter and like going for long walks in my neighbourhood. If you type Rhodes, NSW into Google Earth it'll show you the Parramatta River, near where I live and where I spend a LOT of time walking and riding my bike.
