I am still madly in love with my teenage crush who rejected my proposal of a date more than 3 years ago.

You will never believe what I did today. I was visiting the local music
store and I actually played a double bass. I was almost too short for
the big fiddle. I had a ball playing this 6 foot 3 inch bass and I'm a
foot shorter. To get to some of the notes I had to hug it. I had to
ask the dealer if he could put it back in it's bracket I was too short
to reach it. Short stuff! I'm too old to grow any taller. I wished
I could. I also have a time reaching the pedals on the pipe organ at
church. I need platform shoes to reach anything or a stool.

Aww, thanks for the flowers, Andrew. Is that to make up for being mean in the 'Do you listen to classical music' thread?

Hmmmmm, not exactly, rojo. You see, I have recently decided to begin a new life, so to say, and to try to be nice to people....Well at least to some of them...And so I have decided to begin first with forum regulators....

After all this time living under this skin of mine -- and it's a long time -- I've come to realize that I can only be myself, really myself, when I'm all alone for several consecutive days. Alone means no people, no bills, no sollicitation, no phone, no computer, no electricity, no running water, no need to perform or to meet anybody's expectations. The only other presence is my dog and non-human visitors. After a day or two I find a comfortable rhythm -- breakfast, morning walk, reading, some music, gathering/cutting fire wood, canoeing, sun bathing, more music, wine, cooking, sun set over the lake, camp fire, more wine, sleeping. After four or five days, I realize that I haven't said a word for a long time merely whistling to the dog. There's no need to talk, to communicate. Life is finally internal.

Then, ten days later, it's time to come back to the "real" world.
