    Smile about the contest

    about the contest

It is the organ music composition contest of Saint-Bertrand de Comminges, a litle city near by the Pyrennées mountains, in France. First contest was in 2006, this is the 2nd contest (and the 1st one to which I subscribe).
Subscriptions end on april the 1st, but scores can be sent one month later.
    1st award is 3000 Euros, second is 1500 and 3rd is 750.
If I win something, I'll offer a journey to my wife, she deserves it.
    Friendly yours. Jean-Paul

The score can be download for free or you can buy it as a 12 pages book for about 4 Euros at Lulu.Com self publishing.

    Jean-Paul,

The contest sounds very interesting ... do lots of composers like yourself compete in this event?

Does someone play these scores or do you send in your mp3 recording of it?

    Hi

in 2006, about 15 composers only competed to this contest. This year, they are expecting more.

    As i cannot play myself, the president of the contest told me by phone that he will play my music (but only the 8 best composers will be played in public);

i have to send the score and an audio CD. I'll send the music reccorded with virtual organ, unless someone in this forum can play and reccord for me.

informations (in French) about the contest :

About the tempo of Prelude & Fugue

What do you think about the tempo ?
isn't it too fast ? May be 72 will be enough.
Did anyone try to play a passage ?

    Thank for your answers.
    Friendly yours. Jean-Paul

I think it's just right Musicalis. It doesn't drag or play too fast.

    Hello J.P.

I played it at 70 and it really gave much satisfaction. Again, a wonderfully mature work of yours - BRAVO!!!!!!!

    Respectfully yours,

    Hi J.P.

I played it on the organ and liked the way it fit under my hands and feet. Sorry J.P. I don't do recordings - no offence taken, ok?

    Cheers,
