    Hi maz

Welcome to the forum, good to have you here.

I don't play the guitar, but those who do will advise you.

Maz.! First of all you must purchase good guitar. Bad instrument can entail to lack of desire to play music on the guitar.

That is so true Alex. I have an Estaban that I try to play that likes to
cut my fingers and leave them sore. I've had guitars that were a real
joy to play too. Those are the ones that you want to learn on. Some
thing that you can play with joy instead of pain from sore fingers.

I just happen to like to sit with my guitar and relax playing soft jazz so
I can focus on my day.

    Classical guitar

I would like to learn Classical Guitar, and and am seeking information on the best current makers. Are they all in Spain, or are there guitar builders as good elsewhere. How much should you pay for a very good guitar? My playing interests include Renaissance, Baroque, mainly.

    Hello! Thanks for replying.

I'm interested primarily in playing music c. 1500 - 1700. I have some CDs of English and Venetian lute music that I love. I'm also a tremendous fan of Paul Galbraith's JS Bach recordings.

I'd like to find out who are the best Classical guitar makers, and what the cost would be of a good instrument.

Either go to a local music store that sells instruments or go on line.
They can help. What I have is one of those by Estaban and I don't
like mine. I would rather have a classical guitar. They are easy on
    the fingers unlike the Estaban.

The flamanco style guitar playing is similar to what you are talking about.
I play it that way on some songs.

Real flamenco guitar performance requires a lifetime of serious study, blood, sweat, tears, and performance before one can be recognised as a flamenco artist - everything else is just posing - Here is the master himself:
