"Wienerbread" translated to correct Danish equals "bread of Wienna". Now that make sense doesn´t it? Since Wienna is the largest city in the country of Austria.

How petty is that. I love Danish pastries and that is what I shall always call them.

Why these morons (as CT so aptly named them), don't just get on with their lives, I will never know.

If I had a row with someone from another country, would I re-name food? Don't think so. I eat what I like whatever it is called, and wherever it comes from.

Judy, there's a bakery near where I work that sells weinerbrød (Danish pastries) but they are made by Koreans and are just horrid. I refuse to buy them. The dough needs to be made, layer upon layer, with lots of butter. The Asian bakers just don't get it.

My neck of the woods uses puff pastry to make such pastries. I like
them anyway. I have made what you call apple turnovers with puff pastry.
