It was a cold, and stormy night ...
OK here goes (not original I know but ... fun I hope).
I'll start you lot complete this
"It was a cold and stormy night. The wind was howling in the trees and flashes of lightning illuminated the darkened house, I could see a shadowy figure, in the distance, slowly approach ...

I turned on the light to see my neighbor from next door holding an
apple pie. As he stood there with the pie he said, "my wife made
you something that you might like. I hope you like apple pie. She
just baked it before the storm came."

"Why thank you," I said putting the apple pie on the table. I turned and asked him if he would like to come in. "No I had better get back, my wife will worry."
Just as I shut the door a loud clap of thunder filled the air. I turned to put the apple pie in the fridge, only to find it not there...

I chewed my lip nervously and walking into the living room. Just as I entered, the lightbulb died and I was left in darkness. I could hear heavy breathing coming from another, dark part of the house and I felt scared ...

I finally found a new light bulb and put in to see my wife in the new

It turned out to be the cat down in the basement wanting me to let
him in. That cat was siamese with a strange loud meow. Half of the
time he sounds like a lady screaming.

Of course, the blood-curdling screams of the cat drove everyone bonkers and it had many guests lining up at the reception desk of the Hotel demanding their money back.

Corno that was funny! Now for the rest of the story:
What I thought was the siamese turned out to be a panther. Everyone
ran for cover knowing how vicious a panther can be.

And they all waited and waited for such a long time just waiting to see what this ferocious panther was going to do next ... then, in an instant, and without any warning, the panther suddenly jumped up and

Licked me in the face purring wanting me to pet it. This was no ordanary
wildcat. It also had a collar that said. "My name is Prettygirl." So it was
someone's pet cat.

Now prettygirl was lying on the long dining room table and nobody wanted to go near it. However, the butler had an ingenious idea - he tied a big piece of raw steak with a fine cloth string and lowered it in front of the big cat which then perked up and the butler was able to coax the cat outside and into the truck from the owner's mansion.

A young girl saw me pet the pretty cat and came over wanting to
pet it. This big cat was also gentle enough a child could pet it.
Then the owner of the jaguar came and said,"Prettygirl! Did you
hear me when I called you. The cat looked up at the lady and
gave a loud deep meow." Evidently the cat didn't like being scolded
by his master.
After she scolded Prettygirl she took her favorite
snack and showed the crowd what tricks the cat could do and said,
"This goes to show that she's a show cat."

But really, show cats are such finicky "collaborators". Hopefully the person that own the Panther has at least a one thousand acre preserve that the cat can roam around on.
