    Hi Michel,

The discussionlevels in here have been rather low for some time now, the only thing being somewhat constantly active is your "corner" of the forums, and I was wondering whether you'd want a discussion on the artworks you post in here - if there's any aspect (maybe the technique of constructing it or maybe any philosophical background or something else) of them you'd want a debat on - or if it's more meant as a display window of sorts?

    Best,
    Thomas

well.. kinda doing mine to boost activity level here. Things have generally been pretty low key around here for some time. basically want to add my cents to what I can to inspire.

I have it like, any should feel free to ask any question at all, and I gladly answer, and I hope that people will be motivated to post stuff concerning whatever they're doing.

    Hi Michel,

It looks interesting - I'm downloading it as I write this.
What kind of editing equipment/program do you use for films like these?

    Cheers,
    Thomas

    ---

    edit:
    After watching it 1 time:
Animalistic in expression - a very coherent piece: the music/sounds and the pictures meshes well - not a bad editing job, though the visual side is by far the more avantgarde (in comparison to the music). Not an easy part to act. The nudity of the actress enhances the primal-like character of the film.
It seems to depict some sort of (life)cycle - that's the "storyline"/thoughts behind the creation?

How long does it take to make such a film (of approx 4 minutes)? - even though the acting is not of inconsequence it seems that the editing/postfilming part is the most timeconsuming.

    Re: [n] 1 - experimental film

    Aight.
I used a huge variety of different programs for this project. Can't remember what the music was made in, but I'll ask Noah about that one.

I used Final Cut pro for the editing. Also did some raw grading in it. Then I exported as a long range of .tga pics, and imported it into a program called Digital Fusion. Then I've been using Photoshop, both for grade test, text and animated texture..

Some of the thoughts behind it. The project is divided into 3 pieces. The 2 next are in progress and will be released on the web within a year.

It is based upon the asumption that innocense gets corrupted by intelligence. The girl is going through the mental evolution from animal to becoming selfaware. It is meant to depict the irony in which we trash things up around us as well as search for a meaning, that first comes at the step we become selfaware. Thus.. with intelligence, we get the ability to become selfdestructive.

Though each of the 3 pieces will be a story in itself, they will first give their full meaning when all 3 are made.. and in all they become the sum of thoughts I'd have wondering around in my head for quite some time.

It took me about 2 month to do it, and it costed me 15K dkr to do this one. But a lot of time went with getting used to Digital Fusion.. first time I work with it.
