The problem is that Saffron is the most expensive spice on earth. I use
cinnamon as my main spice or black pepper. My favorite is something
made with allspice. Yum!:p

Dear Ms. Margaret,

You have hit the nail on the head - It is the food of Angels.

Although, I do know some people who think it tastes horrible. Maybe for some it will be an acquired taste. I distinctly remember the first time I tasted saffron. It was on 13 December 1966 and my mom had made the saffron lucia buns. Thats when it all started for me.

Cheers,

CD :):):):)

There is an hilarious advertisement on T.V. at present where a mother bakes a cake for her child's birthday party. All the kids are yelling their heads off and generally having a good time, when the mother brings the cake to the dinning room table and slices it up and serves it out to the kids. They all gobble it down and then, suddenly, each one of them spits it out and says "eeeiiiwwww gross ..." the end of the ad is the mother using a Dymo Labeller and putting a label "Salt" on the sugar jar. I laugh each time I see it.

Judy, I guess so. It's a funny ad, but silly because you name ONE person who doesn't lick the wooden spoon after mixing the batter during the cake making process ...

Hm, that does look very appetizing, much more than the crickets on stick...I wonder, does one eat the entire cricket or are you suppose to leave the legs and the head??? ;)
