    Happy Mother's Day - May 11

    * Happy Mother's Day *

The 2nd Sunday in May is when many countries honor our Mother's, either in remembrance or in celebration. God bless our Mother's.

I will be in tears tomorrow. I miss my mother greatly and I never could
be one.I tried hard to get into motherhood but it never happened.
I would like to say to those like myself a happy Ladies Day.

    Hi Judy,

Yes, this it is a time for remembrance too ... my Mom has been playing harps or lutes for almost 17 years now. Not being able to have children is another grief some bear with reluctance - not always one's choice, but all part of God's master plan.

So ... to you, and all the other gals, Happy Ladies Day, too.

    Hi Judy

Yes I couldn't be a mother either, but I am lucky, my mother is in her late eighties and still going strong.

The bond with your mother is very strong, so she is missed. I had a strong bond with my father too, and I really miss him.

But I think mother's day is also a day for reflection and memories, thinking of all the good times you had together.

    Take care

Even though I had a hard time getting along with my mother she is
truly missed. I dream about her sometimes. Now that I'm going
through the first stages of the change I have to talk to other ladies
that are older than I for support now. I can't call her up anymore
and ask how she handled hot flashes or mood swings. I have to
talk to other women who are older in their sixties. Mother was
eighty years old when she died. That was 13 years ago.

    Hi Judy

Yes it is the things you go through, that you know your mother went through that you sometimes want to ask advice about.

My mother is 88 soon to be 89, her memory isn't all it use to be, but otherwise her health is at least good.

Sometimes something happens and I think, I wish I could talk to my dad about that, he was very good on giving advice.

So here's a drink to all ladies, mothers or not.
I like his glass because it refills itself.

Yes, it was a Muttertag in Germany on 11th May as well.

Here is a toast and flowers for all Moms - and Ladies - in this forum.

Best of luck, Margaret, Judy, Robin... Could we together one day?

    Cheers

    Motherhood is not limited biologically.

Our pastor's wife cannot be a mother because she had her uterus removed...but with the congregation, she has more children than she can ever have.

Yes that is nice, also if people didn't adopt some children wouldn't have a family.

    I love mother's day.

In Russia, we dont have a mother's day per se. We have a Woman's day, March 8th, which is when all men celebrate the women in their life, and children celebrate their moms, grandmoms, teachers, etc

And the same for father's day. We celebrate "man's day", February 23.
