China should always be in our prayers. Even without the disasters.
We should keep everyone in our prayers. The solders at war, people
    in disasters, and the sick.

Praying for the victims in Burma/Myanmar.

From the Danish TV2 News yesterday evening, it seems the military government in Burma has decided to alowe some international aid to enter the country for the more than 2 1/2 million people in Burma in Myanmar, who have been the victimised of this terrible disaster from nature.

Numbers of death people are now up to 79.000 and still 58.000 people are missing according to the Danish TV2 News, who as the first reporters from Denmark yesterday were alowed to enter this area of Myanmar in Burma.

Nature can be unexpected cruel at times, but as we have seen the military governments in the world can be even more cruel. We keep praying all over the world for the lost victims in Burma and the ones who are alive, but are kept as victims without the most nessesary help, who desperately need all the aid, doctoring, medicin and all the attention, we all can muster through political pressure and by praying for the instant help for all these fellow human beings.

Thank you to you Teo for creating this thread.

Mother Earth is indeed a cruel mistress ... overpopulation is often dealt with a swift and unforgiving hand.

It goes to show that we must never take nature for granted. It can be kind to us and it can be cruel. My prayers and thoughts are with all people suffering. I hope that the government keeps its word and lets aid into Burma/Myanmar. There is so much to be done there to ease the suffering, and to rebuild and stop disease from spreading.

Thank you Teo for letting us share our thoughts.

It does NOT go to show we are living in the last days, what total nonsense. They said that when the year 2000 approached and all the religious nutters got out there in the druidic outfits and then skulked home with their prides hurt and their religious tailes between their legs.

I think if it was the last days, the whole earth would have been hit. Some places have been hit but other places have been left to continue.

So that those left can help, the places will regenerate, more babies will be born, and life will go on.

Burma isn't the only place. We have a member in a situation now that
is not safe. He's close to the volcano that's creating all of the vog
right now. And I happen to be concerned about everybody. I'm not that
kind of christian who will beat you over the head with a bible and say
if you don't do this or that then there will be trouble. Even my neck
of the woods got an earthquake a few weeks ago which made headlines
from Illionis to Kentucky. This sulfur has killed off some of the plants
and is ruining the health of thousands in Hawaii. We will also feel the
impact of that earthquake because it also disturbs the atmosphere.

I couldnīt agree more with you on how much crap and frustrations the christian crusadors of the ultra-right-wing-conservatives (typical the Bush admin.) in the USA have spread of neddless fear about the soon-to-arrive-Apocalypse, just around the corner theory, we have listened to since the year 1700.

Arenīt it funny however the contradiction in terms that the same highly christian crusadors, true believers of The Lord and Jesus Christ in the USA are the same ones, who are and think in violence and really want to reinforce the military complex in the USA as to expences, by 3 times over the USA taxes, while 47 million people of their own citizens are left with nothing???

Christianity and Democracy have various implications and methods, but arenīt we as christians supposed to be for peace and equallity and to take care of our own people, before we go to save the entire world???

This christian agrees with you 100 %. The church should have been more
kind to all people. The Catholic church used to be vicious. Pope John
Paul II was the only one who said it right and stopped the hate and most
of the Comunism. He was more like the Apostle Paul in the Bible. The
pope they have now is cracking down on these child molesters who dress
    up like priest.

    Ms. Judy

Why canīt women study to be priests within the Catholic Church? It seems to be condescending to all females.

We have women in Denmark, who are priests within Christianity equally to men.

I know what you are saying. Even the methodist church has women
preachers. Why can't the catholic church let women be priest.

I dont know - probably biblical role of women? Eve and the apple, all that stuff.

Or in Israel, women are not allowed to show their arms, for example - has nothing to do with women, it has to do with the fact that the men find it provocative and cant control themselves. So maybe that could also be the reason.

I think, and I'm probably wrong here, that the Catholic Church doesn't allow women as clergy because of the original custodians of the faith (that is the twelve apostles, who all happened to be blokes).
