I know you guys were talking about a specific piece of music in this thread. But since it is titled "Searching for organ music", I thought I would present my question here.

Do you guys know of a good place on the Internet to go and download organ music? I found and listened to the radio station organlive.com last night and it was wonderful!!
But I was wondering if you guys know a good place to download free organ music?

    Hi Drummer,

In a few weeks IMSLP will be back online ... July 1, 2008 @ 12:01 AM, to be more specific. IMSLP has a plethora of PD (Public Domain) scores - lots of organ compositions - it was [and will be again] a great source for PD music, a site which I frequented often.

Another site, The Mutopia Project has about 159 pieces for organ.

There is also this site for JS Bach, again all public domain material.

These PD editions may not be the finest engravings of the masters works, certainly not the Dupré or Schweitzer editions that many of us older organists have in our private collections, but they are useful enough, and the price is right .

I have also purchased organ music from Evensong, which features some selections from one of our own MIMF members, Giwro.

    You're welcome, Drummer ...

Forgot one other source CD Sheet Music, where you can purchase a CD containing the complete organ works of JS Bach. That collection will absolutely blow you away - not only can you look at all the compositions, you can also print them as many times as you want for your own personal use. They also have two additional CD's of organ sheet music: Baroque Organ Works, and French Romantic Organ Works.

As it turns out, I now have all three of those CD's ... just acquired the Bach works last month at the recommendation of another MIMF member, Contratrombone64.

Krummiest is spot on about the PDF bach edition, it is fantastic and won't break the bank.
