• Welcome to the Pipe Organ Forum! This is a part of the open community Magle International Music Forums focused on pipe organs (also known as "church organs"), organists, organ music and related topics.

This forum is intended to be a friendly place where technically advanced organists and beginners (or even non-organists) can feel comfortable having discussions and asking questions. We learn by reading and asking questions, and it is hoped that the beginners (or non-organists) will feel free to ask even the simplest questions, and that the more advanced organists will patiently answer these questions. On the other hand, we encourage complex, technical discussions of technique, music, organ-building, etc. The opinions and observations of a diverse group of people from around the world should prove to be interesting and stimulating to all of us.

As pipe organ discussions can sometimes become lively, it should be pointed out that this is an open forum. Statements made here are the opinion of the poster, and not necessarily that of the forum itself, its administrator, or its moderators.

We strive to make this a friendly and informative forum for anyone interested in pipe organs and organ music.

Organ music, not for the office

Delightful ... playful ...

Wonder what it would sound like if at the end it returned to be beginning theme and ended in a special coda in the original key.

I can see a great use for this as an organ concert encore, or even an Offertoire at church - my congregation would absolutely eat this music up and enjoy it.

Well, what can I say - they like anything I play ... strange congregation, I guess.

And you like anything I compose ..... strange organist, I guess !!!!

Would you really play it at church, if I return to the first thema and add a coda ?

J-Paul,

Yes, I do like everything you compose ... the strangeness part comes from my affinity of music by French composers, in particular, Franck, Vierne, and Dupré ... and your compositions are no exception.

I would definitely play the piece at church - intact as it is, or with an added coda. I only put the thought out for consideration as it "felt" like it wanted to flow back to the original theme, as the ending was a little elusive.

I listened to it last night and really enjoyed it! I think it is a very happy sounding piece.
It was very interesting to me to see the sheet music too, thank you.

I quite agree, Drummer.
It's always neat to read the score as it's being played - gives us a better feel for the piece, and to hear it as the composer intended is a real plus.

Thanks, J-Paul ... looking forward to seeing the revision.

Hi J-Paul,

Nice coda - really compliments the piece splendidly ... glad you liked it too.
Now to learn it so I can play it in church. I'm doing an organ dedicatory concert in the Fall - perhaps, with your permission, I would like to include it in the program.

Hi

You can hear now the version 7 of this music, using stops similar to those of the church St Jean-Baptiste of la Roche sur Foron (France) including small bells.

I have been asked also for more music for this organ, so you can see an other topic "adagio of the suite FRANZETTI3
