    Anton Bruckner

Fellow music connoisseurs, is this the earliest existing portrait of Bruckner, or is there an earlier one?:

    Hello Gringoire,

Welcome aboard - Please do make yourself feel right at home and stay for a spell. In many biographies of Bruckner and his life one can find pictures of him as a child. I have yet to retrieve all my books from the time I was living in Europe so right now I have no book on Bruckner. A college, university, or public library should have a biography of Bruckner.

    Cheers,

    Corno Dolce

How on earth would you know the answer to that if you are not a musicologist with a speciality in engravings and dating?

I sincerely hope there's one floating around this forum ... I'd be intrigued to know which is the earliest too, but it begs the question, why do you need to know?
