    Hi Master Krummhorn,

Once the economies of scale kick in the price of travel will come down precipitously plus you're using less fuel, the fuel you're using is not finite like oil, and your propulsion system is vastly simpler than the current jet engines. An empty Space Shuttle has half the parts of a 747.

You can dispense with in-flight entertainment, in-seat gadgetry, and food service - all of that requires huge expenses which are passed on to the consumer. So, I do find it a myth that its going to be prohibitively expensive. Shoots, there are some 45 minute runs from end to end on the New York Subway and there are no concession stands aboard the subway, internet connections, on-board lavatories or other doo-dads.

    Humbly,

I wonder if the US government would put us through some kind of
program before we can get on board one of these planes.

That is a valid question Ms. Judy - There are aspects like pre-breathing pure oxygen for 45 minutes to purge the blood of Nitrogen, having your own life-support suit, maybe a run in a *human centrifuge* semi annually:

HaHa, I suppose if they serve a meal on this flight it would have to be fast food.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA - Little do you know what goes on behind closed flightdeck doors There are a number of pilots who are married to flight attendants.
