    Smile advice please...

    Greetings everyone!
I've been away for really really long, more than a year now...need to catch up with all the interesting posts I've missed out on.
I need a little advice: I've finally got the opportunity to get myself The Art of Organ Building by Audsley, a book I've always wanted, but I can afford just one volume right now and only volume II is currently in stock, so if someone could please tell me whether having volume II without volume I is worth it or is it better to have the first without the second. I'm not even sure if I'll have the opportunity to purchase another volume later. I just can't decide which to get. Thanks in advance...cheers and good wishes to all

    Welcome back, Drinklicafix

From my viewpoint looking at the Table of Contents of both volumes (viewed on Amazon[dot]com), you won't have the most complete "picture" of the whole process without the benefit of having both volumes.

A quick check at Amazon reveals that both volumes are available and that there are much lower prices if one obtains a used book, or the paperback version instead of the very expensive hardcover edition.

Great to have you back with us again - we missed you being around these parts

Just buy them, I own them and pour over them every now and then (especially when sleep evades me).

I can only echo the statements of my illustrious colleagues - get the paperback edition - Its a Real bargain.
*If a man wants God to hear his prayer quickly, then before he prays for anything else, even his own soul, when he stands and stretches out his hands towards God, he must pray with all his heart for his enemies. Through this action God will hear everything that he asks* -Abba Zeno-

*Protagoras: "Truth is subjective. What is true for you, and what is true for me, is true for me. Your opinion is true by virtue of its being your opinion."

*Socrates: "My opinion is: Truth is absolute, not opinion, and that you are in absolute error. Since this is my opinion, then according to your philosophy you must grant that it is true."

    Hi Drinklicafix,

Thank you for your kind word. Yes, the Samuel Adams quote is quite inspirational.

    Cheers,
