Ok...i watched the movie "we were soldiers" the other day and i must say the music is FABULOUS!!
but i can't find..
i think the composer is Nick Glennie-Smith - he's done a few other movies and stuff..

but the music i'm trying to locate is from the scene in the middle of the movie where they're starting to ship all the soliders off to Vietnam.
It's also played again - tho a little differently - right at the end of the film in the end of the credits
any help anyone?
EDIT: If you wish to hear the song and join in on the hunt, the music starts during the film around 36mins into it from the beginning.

Hi Toninargo,

You are correct about the composer being Nick Glennie-Smith. There is a soundtrack available for this movie, according to the IMDb site (Internet Movie Database).

Sometimes though, not all music that is used in a movie will be recorded on a soundtrack ... this has to do with licensing, permissions of performers, royalties to other music recording companies, and the list goes on.

You might attempt to also write to the composer if the music isn't available on CD.

The "song" you are thinking of, which is set to Nick Glennie Smith's score, is indeed Sgt. Mackenzie's lament..

The track on the soundtrack is "Flying High" (on my album it's track 5, but on amazon, it's track 4 o_O)

The Soundtrack is well worth getting, "what is war" is a cracker too : though sadly the drums in the piece lack the same "bite" when they were mastered in the movie.
