Wait, was that a 64' stop or an extremely large diesel engine?
Is that vacuuming in the background I hear? The demonstration is
very interesting. The little organ at my church needs to grow some.
It's not even half that size.

Judy - I would say it's not even a quarter the size ... the Town Hall organ sits beind a stage area where the Full 110 piece Sydney Symphony sit on occasion.
Not sure that I was 100% taken by the Mander chap's comments on a couple of occasions - it sounded as though he was being a tad derogatory. Robert is always good value though, and even through the camera mic, that's a noble sounding plenum.
It's odd how one can remember distinctive noises from certain builds of consoles. The "thunk" of the stops going in and out and the dull "hiss-thud" of the preset pistons reminded me so much of the console at St Peter's Cathedral in Adelaide - same Hill vintage.
Music is made to transform the states of the soul, for an hour or an instant (J. Alain)
That is one heck of an impressive beast. It was very interesting to listen to the discussion as different settings were activated. That huge contra was something else!
I like the quote "it has the same affect as the tympani in an orchstra ..." when referring to my namesake.
