    classical song from australian commercial

    hello,
to be honest, my first and probably only post, unless i need another question answered.... apologies and mean no disrespect. love music, universally, but like most people, don't use something until i need something.

there is an ad, that may have been an airline ad.

there wasn't so much any singing. more a rhythm sung

    like this:

hm hmm hmm hm hm hm hm hmm.
hm hmm hmm hm hm hmmmm
    hm hm hm

i know it look and reads stupidly, but its a humming type song that builds.

    brilliant and perfect.

    can anyone advise

    thank you

Possibly this particular theme from The Mission – fades in at about 3:10. Music by Ennio Morricone.

Other airline ads that come to mind: Qantas used (uses?) "I Still Call Australia Home" (Peter Allen); British Airways used the Lakme Flower Duet (Delibes). Don't suppose you're thinking of Carmina Burana (Orff)? It seems to get used every now and then for pushing various products. (Doesn't involve a whole lot of humming though.)

Sounds like the Humming Chorus, from Madam Butterfly, but played a little too fast.

    thanks everyone for replies.
art rock - not crash test. love that song. once, there was girl who got into an accident and couldn't come to school... beautiful

toto- will look at mission and carmina possibility. not lakme flower.

    Contra- nice one!

JHC- will also give a try.

the hmm hmming that i wrote isn't a substitute for words. its literally got humming at start. very classical, though never heard beyond it. it mightn have been an airline ad. but def australian ad.

    thanks everyone

    see you on the beach

    Good luck travisk.

Any chance you could pick out the notes of the tune on a piano or guitar and post what they are?

Humming this thing, it actually sounds somewhat familiar. Could it possibly have been a beer commercial?

Hi, don't know if you're been successful or been back but I stumbled across your post while I was searching for a similar track, I was successful in finding mine and thought maybe it was the one you're searching for:
    Conquest of Paradise by Vangelis

The only airline commercial song I know that uses a non-lyric rhythmic singing track is "Adiemus" by Karl Jenkins. Forget which airline it was.

Guys, there are still signs and wonders
litterally 8,5 years after the last entry was done here and a lost soul found this Thread after googling these exact words:
"hm hmm hm hm hmm hmhm hmhm chorus"
That soul had a long journey throug its deep memories and the greatest depth of his mind
and is know officially engaged with every single song that anyone could refer to hm hmm hm hm hmmm hmhm hmhm
It was twelve and never touched a coputer until then, when you guys wrote about this song.
and now at the date of 15.04.2017 this thread helped that poor soul coure its mind torture.

    That soul is me

    @Mal86
    I love you!
    "Conquest of Paradise by Vangelis"
ended my journey and i can therefore now sleep well

    I love you,
    Internet,
    Do your thing!

    Kayvian signing out.
    good night.

I'm seeing someone say Crash Test Dummies, no, but maybe just thinking Canadian.
A western band with a big hit, "The Superman Song", featured a deep-voiced, almost talking,
male vocalist, and this song starts with a lot of humming, a slow song, almost a dirge.
Not a Led Zep dirgeable, no, not even close. This band had a female member too.
Have I thought of their name yet, even if I can see them onstage? Nope!

Try typing some Jimi Hendrix wah-wah into search, and be prepared for what happens.

However, I'm surprised to see mature and responsible Magle.dk members getting into this.
I think travisk is trying a to get a free assemblage of music so he can be traviskstock.hum just for TubeYou.
If he wants a hummer from me, no, he doesn't want a hummer from me.
not Joni Mitchell, but Johnny Missile, the acoustic explosion.
"they emptied Detroit and brought over foreign lots,
all those pink Cadillacs are now just empty parking spots,
oh when Elvis came to play, getting back onstage in the Falls,
he drove all around and all he found was the Motown Museum,
where he didn't have to pay to get in just to look around and see them,
oh, the city went bankrupt, so I parked with my finances way down,
first Honda and then Hyundai climbed into my back seat,
with Hackumotors surfing a new tidal wave of cars coming at us....

I was thinking Bare Naked Ladies, a Toronto band I shared cover charge and babysitting duties with,
and Crash Test Dummies is the western band.

Australia! The Happy Swagman, with his humming song.
    Plus, "Tie Me Kangaroo Down".
