    Can you help?

    Hi folks.

I am new here. Although I am not a huge fan of the classical music, sometimes I listen to it. My favourite composers are Chaikowski and Beethoven. The reason I registered is because I wanna find a musical piece. I don't know if this forum is the right place for my post, cause I am not even sure that piece is classical. Probably it is a new age, or it was composed not a long time ago. Anyway, it is from a bulgarian movie, it was filmed back in 1984. I beg you to take a look here:

At 18:46 min, the child is playing on the piano. There is where the sample begins. It lasts only a few seconds, but I believe it is enough if you know the track to help. Any suggestions who is the composer?
    Thanks in advance.

I sounds like something from Strause. Kinda like Madam Butterfly.

Indeed, welcome aboard Discovery_Mission (is this screen name perchance inspired by my all-time favourite sci-fi film 2001? )

I've had a look at the clip link you posted and it sounds a lot like Chopin to me - simply going on the general style of his studies, waltzes, preludes, mazurkas, etc. It could of course, be the film composer attempting to emulate that style, but since they've gone to the trouble of having a young child perform for the scene, it's more likely to be from the traditional repertoire.

So my vote goes for Chopin or similar, but I'd have to leave the final decision up to someone who can properly identify the piece. Just my $0.02
