Well... what can I say but very interesting indeed. I decided to experiment with this by writing these notes as I heard your tracks for the very first time. So, I hope this comes across as it is meant to - a constructive 'listen' to what I hope is a very interesting album. I doubt if I will finish it in one sweep, so you may have to wait for more....

OK... here goes...

1: She SPoke of Birds: I especially liked this 1st short track...'She spoke of Birds', very ambient indeed.

2: A Movement Separating: The start of the 2nd track reminded me very much of of a Genesis track... "Unquiet Slumber for the Sleepers" but then changed into a great riff... nice! though not too keen on the jazzy influence on the piano but that's just a personal choice... screams as well eh! At 6:16 the sounds are brilliant... what a fantastic dark 'industrial' effect, very nice indeed this, a lovely smooth synth sound in the distance is heard too. I like it and it moves along well. A nice change in mood at 10:01 but maybe a little noisy????.

3: Fell with the Moon: Interesting sound introduction for the first bit which was nicely interupted at 1:00. Strange that one!

4: Consonant: Didn't appeal to me this one sorry, but once again this is just my personal opinion.

7: Duplicate Unseen: reminded me of some of Rich and Lustmord's work... nice. I like the gated effect that starts around 7:48.

9: Concrete Insulated Pane: nice filters... and I live the reemergence of the industrial sound effect that sneaks in quietly there too!! Long ending...:(

Well, there you go... hope this gives a small insight into what I felt when I heard the tracks for the 1st time.

Thanks for the comments, I realise some stuff still needs to be tightened up but so far I'm satisfied with the feedback I've been getting about it.
I don't even know if I should label it 'ambient'... if I had to name my influences, I'd say Pierre Schaeffer, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Pink Floyd circa 1969 and Sonic Youth, which is quite the weird mix.
Anyways, thanks for listening, glad you like it (well, most of it at least).

You are welcome. Thanks for not taking the comments personally... it is only a sungle persons opinion after all and I really did like some of the tracks very much... especially what I refer to as teh Industrial Sound. Incidentally, what did you produce this on>?

Everything was recorded on CoolEdit Pro, tweaked with some of the Sonic Foundry DirectX plugins, Alien Solo for the moog sound. Percussion tracked on Fruity Loops, guitars recorded directly from amp lineout to sound card, keyboards through guitar amp (since I don't have a keyboard amp), electric violin also through guitar amp (and the occasional distortion pedal).

I am going to host a roleplay (sit around a table and act out stories)this weekend. It is loosely based in a future 20 years from now. The setting and the mood of the game is perfectly enhanced by your music, and I will be using the music during gameplay to create the wanted atmosphere. The game is a lika a psycological thriller movie,
Also, much inspiration has been gained from your music when writing the campaign.

Best regards
Patrik

Ps: the roleplay is only at a friends house, and no money is involved so no one will be making any money of this music. I do not know how much you know about roleplaying, but just to assure that no public broadcast will be made of this.

I did the same sort of review that theMusicMan did before I even scrolled past the original post. Anyway, here are my thoughts...

She Spoke of Birds reminds me of something out of an Alford Hitchcock film. Or it would even have worked nicely in the new War of the Worlds film.

A Movement Seperating is like nothing I've heard before. Kind of chaotic, but not necessarily in a bad way. I found the entire thing very "groovy". A little slow to transition, but I do like it when musicians/composers don't care about traditionally-modern length "restrictions".

Fell With the Moon is very sci-fi retro. Does that make sense? Like something out of a sci-fi flick from the 70's. The chords about 3/4 through made the entire experience for me.

Consonant made feel like being alone in space (still going with the sci-fi theme here, I wonder if that's what you were going for). It makes me feel lost, lonely, confused, and even frightened. The vocals are not a bad addition... very good in fact.

I really hate to keep going with the fantasy scenarios, as I want to give you more technical feedback, but with Warning-Release I'm still getting that vibe. Without knowing anything about you, I'm certain you compose music for movie soundtracks, or at least compose music with a story in your head.

Grid: I'd recommend you do more with this. This one did nothing for me.

Duplicate Unseen is a pretty cool ambient tune. This is the kind of stuff I could work to.

I realize you're not askign what hsould be changed, but in Level Displaced I would personally add something deep and dark to it, like some low piano keys or something.

Concret Insulated Pane. To be completely honest, I've run out of stuff to say, or I've just gotten used to you style by now. This is right in line, but a little less exciting than everything else I've heard so far.

Thank you very much for sharing your work with us, allowing it to be critiqued, and especially for offering us the free tunes.

Just coming back to say the roleplaying game really gained an entire other atmosphere through the use of your record. Great stuff, will be continuing next week-end with more of the same game.

Best regards

So far I've only had a chance to listen to She Spoke of Birds and fell with the moon because of my dial up connection. It just sounds like your doing everything to not conform to me. I didn't get much enjoyment from what I heard sadly, I guess the longer tracks have more going on.

If you've only downloaded and listened to the two shortest songs, than you are missing more than 99% of what he has created. Those two tracks I wouldn't even call songs, they're more like sound-effects. You need to hear the longer actual "songs" before passing judgement.

Yeah... those are just small 'inbetween' pieces to provide some space, since the main pieces are long.

Thanks everyone for the comments and critiques!
