This what Tony Blair's bodyguard did. Not sure I'd want someone so forgetful guarding me.

I can certainly understand the "call of nature" but forgetting your gun in the toity? You can bet she'll not do that again, especially since she has been removed from his detail. Poor her...and poor Tony!
No Intet definately not the best career move. But the women had said how heavy they were, so you would think she would have noticed.

I don´t know the size or weight of such hand gun, the Glick 17, but if it remotely looks like a Magnum 457 - the typical Clint Eastwood/Dirty Harry gun:
"This is the most deathly gun in the world, it will take your head clean off!!,
I can easely imagine the weight of it, in the hands of a 5 feet 2 inches sized woman in trousers. The MET should have an understanding for perhaps a Baretta 22 in stead, but I guess it would easely turn in THE SUN to - possitive special treatment of women within the MET.
Are female police women in the UK alowed to wear a skirt in stead of long trousers? They are not in Denmark, where they can not have lose long hair or wear make up either.
If I had been a woman, I would definately remove my gun when having to sit down, after getting irritated that the seat was up (lols) after the last visitor - a gent.

don't start me up with dirty harry!![]()
Hi Intet
Well it seems that female cops on bodyguard duty wear trousers. But I am not sure if they are allowed to wear skirts, or whether they just find trousers more comfortable. I would think the guns are quite heavy, but you would think even if you have to take the gun off to go to the toilet, they would remember to put it back on.

here i must add that the dirty harry opening sequence was the first musical shock of my life, and to this day the strongest. the movie itself is not what i call a timeless classic, but lalo Schifrin AND his musicians did something that never happened again in my ears.
i still wonder why the little piano part is not included on the CD issue of "dirty harry's creed".
