    Heavenly Music

If there shall be Music in heaven, which in my opinion there definently will be,what instruments, composers and musical matters of any kind do you think will be in evidence in heaven or "your" heaven? Be as creative and imaginative as you so desire. For me Gustav Mahler opens the gates of heaven displaying all of his works, for instance. The Ressurection symphony will be heard-I would presume. What say you? What do you think will get "showcased" in the after-life? Thanx.

Final pages of Richard Wagner's Tannhaeuser is the top of my list.I always imagined choral music to be played in heaven.

I would like to hear the angel's harps of gold and music that sounds
like this.YouTube - THE SOUND OF SILENCE Salterio by Fabio Sbrizzi of BIOnigT
I love the music of a psalter like this on you tube. This is a type of
    zither.

This is a difficult one, I thought Handel's Messiah, but maybe God doesn't want music praising him. I have always believed that there is a heavenly choir, but why not an orchestra as well?

I will have to think some more on this.

That's very interesting question. In "my" heaven, I guess, it would be Chopin with his brilliant piano music, Brahms and Beethoven with their symphonies, then some Bach, Wieniawski, Moniuszko, Vivaldi or Strauss. And that's the repertoire for the very first year of eternity. Whole lot of composers would "appear". This thread is placed in the *Classical Music Forum* but I would surely have a swing band and a jazz piano trio, as well.
