Sunwaiter! I saw never ending playlist with your thoughts of true fusion, and have a comment. But as I scroll through, I see songlists of faves. I'll continue, thinking of a fusion with a song I wouldn't write with the events around me.

After high school we would hitch-hike to spend days in other cities. There was four of us one day in Hamilton, and it was getting dark and starting to rain as we made it to the bottom of the escarpment, the highway up and out. A nice oriental restaurant is at the bottom of the hill. We decided to eat there and wait out the rain. "Riders on the Storm" by the Doors was on the jukebox, and it got played five or six times in a row. That's a long song with ominous words, but the piano and guitar always created a mood in me. It was hard to tell if the storm and rain sounds were coming from outside or off the jukebox. That's still one of my favorite meals.

There was a 60's movie called "The Vikings", where they searched for The Golden Bell. The music from that movie stays with me, especially when the boat breaks through the tempest into the harbour. Maybe my first slow and majestic riff, like Coltrane's Giant Steps or Hendrix's Third Stone From the Sun. One of those riffs you can keep playing over and over with greater resolve as long as everyone else is playing along.

yes. i posted links directing to some of my favourite performances found on youtube. and it is "fusion" as i always try to describe it, that is to say music without any particular boundary.
