Why is the USA behind on Techonology?

I noticed something. Look at your computers and see where it was
made in. Some say Japan, some say Taiwan, some things come from
our neighbors Mexico and Canada. What was the biggest to come from
the good ole USA lately and don't say Microsoft. It started back in the
80's when everyone was worrying about nuclear war and what Ronald
Reagan was to do next. Has my country of America slowed down when
it comes to technical science? What is your opinion? Even american
music can mediocre sometimes and boring.

the fact is, in general terms, Asia is a better option because they pay their nationals lousy wages.

I will say that American kids are not taught what they should learn and
some don't even learn how to read either. It's really sad how the school
system is in America. The same thing is going on as when I went to my
school. The parents drop the kids off at the front door and the school
pushes them out of the back. There are people here in Kentucky who
can't read or write. As far as math some can't even count. Never mind
Mathematics. As for education some american kids simply flunk what we
need to have a technological uprising like Asia. Here you have teacher
where some are lousy. I had some that were lousy teachers and I think
I had about three good ones out of all of my schooling and there are
too many kids with learning disabilities.

I think it's time for America to upgrade it's Technology in many areas.
Other countries are far ahead of us. Even some of our American music
can boring. Rap can go bye bye and electronic music can stay since it
does remind me of the 70s a bit.

The USA behind on technology? We are net exporters of electrical, mechanic al and civil engineering knowhow. So really Ms. Judy I don't understand what your beef is. You probably read too much trash talk about the USA.

Having spent the better part of a quarter century working for a government contractor at a USAF plant, I heartily disagree ... the technology that we have for defense far exceeds any other country by far. Much of that technology is classified, which is why nobody hears about it - but rest assured from someone who has been "inside", the world ain't seen nothin' yet!!

I dare say that 'rap' is not music - it is noise with somebody talking words in a monotone voice on one note ... rap crap (my opinion). The swing era provided this country with some of the best loved music - and not to mention all the American composers of Classical Music.

I so heartily agree with Master Krummhorn.

Let me add that Jazz, among other things, is America's gift to the Music World.

    Nuff said....
