    Aloha J.P.

What a neat piece! I had a vision that this adagio could be the vignette music for a French Film entitled *Le Mysterieusement de la fille Paulette de Polignac*, set in the city of Chartres, about a girl who seeks enlightenment about life at the local library but does not succeed in her quest until she meets the kindly Pere Seraphique at the Cathedral who then helps her to solve her quest.

    Cheerio,

    new version

The first version of this adagio was played with soprano : cor anglais 16' + flute 4 and Great : bourdon 8'.

here is a new performance with (I think) a better registration :
    swell : salicional 8' + voix celeste 8' and Great salicional 8'.

Please, tell which version you prefer.

Please, tell me also if you would have guessed that this music is played by virtual organ. Do you really hear a big difference with a true instrument ?

And if you enjoy my organ music, please pray for my numeric piano because it is dying.

too bad i can't hear it for now. never heard pipe organ sampled sound.

Corno, if you let me, i don't know this particular film but i guess the right title in french would be "le MYSTERE de la fille Paulette de Polignac".

i tried to find an article or any web page related but without success. what is it about?

    Aloha sunwaiter,

I was being a little facetious in my outlay - there is no film with that title - Its just my own thought-construct, and a very silly one at that

    Aloha Master J.P.

I do prefer the earlier version - it has such a plangency, poignancy, and pathos. Yes, there is a difference between a real pipe organ and a virtual one but it is difficult for the layperson to detect the difference. For me, a virtual organ has a somewhat *overprocessed* sound - bland, if you will. Of course, there are instances where because of the ineptitude of the organ voicer/finisher, a real pipe organ will sound bland and without warmth of character.

I'm so sorry that your numeric piano is dying - that is so dreadful My hope is that you'll be able to find a satisfactory instrument to replace the one you have now.

I prefer the new registration, or at least I think it would be more appropriate for a church service. But there might be situations for which the first registration would be suitable -- for example, the film about which Corno Dolce is fantasising.

    Aloha Flute'n'Pedal,

I don't know what got into me the other day when I blurted out about *Paulette de Polignac*

It probably was because I had a very excellent day, both at my gig and at home with my Lady.
