I'm middle aged too. I'm 48 now and have more gray in my hair than my
mother did at my age. When she was 48 she might have had about 5
gray hairs in her hair. My hair looks almost like it's frosted. I thought I
always want to frost my hair a blonde mixed in my dark auburn hair.
Now mother nature is doing the job. By the way I just went to the
beauty shop to get my hair cut last month.

Yes, there are people who take plastic surgery (p.s.) to an extreme, or who go to bad doctors. But they are generally exceptions. Tons of people have p.s. and are happy with the results, and most would agree that it is an improvement in many cases. But we don't hear much about that, and that's fine, because it's none of our business. It irks me that the focus is on exceptions.

I personally don't read tabloid gossip rags/websites, which is where these pics are from, I assume. I have no interest. Besides, they're full of lies. I bet many of those pics are photoshopped, and/or taken in the most unflattering conditions possible, using certain lighting, angles and positions, such as while making an odd face while speaking. Pretty much anyone can be made to look bad, and that's what the tabloid photographers are going for. That's just mean.

People are free to decide what to do with their own bodies. It's called being an adult. People have been mutilating themselves in painful ways for their looks since forever, and will continue to do so; piercings, tattoos, make up, hair dye, corsets... it's all the same thing to me. I really don't care what other people choose to do.

Why do we feel it is ok to point fingers at celebrities and make insulting comments about them? Are they not human beings too, with feelings? Leave these people alone, I say. And if one can't say anything nice, don't say anything. Here's an idea; how about posting pictures of natural beauties instead?

For the record, I've never had p.s., never had a tattoo, I had an ear pierced when I was a teenager but no longer wear an earring, I colour my hair darker, and I wear make up on occasion. No corset though.

I wouldn't have stepped in this thread, but as a moderator, I had to.
