    Skype, worth the hype?

I'm such an old foggie, I've only just discovered Skype, anyone had any positive or negative experiences they'd like to share?

I use it to call my friend Jan (the alpaca farmer) in NZ. Since she has the program, the call is free. Since we both have webcams we can also have a video call...it's very nice.

If the person you call doesn't have Skype, you still get a DEAL. You can call a land line anywhere in the world for a few cents a minute. I love it.

I hear good things. I don't have a webcam, so...

Some of my family members use it though.

I used to have it on my PC, but never got around to using it.

I must say, now that I've used it (greatcyber and I had a lovely chat) it's fantastic. Why would you bother paying your telco a fortune when you can do it free?

    CT64,

If you're an old fogie then I'm ancient as King Leonidas of Sparta. I haven't even given a thought of using Skype and I don't know why - guess I'm too old-fashioned and conservative.

Skype? Of course. It's a great tool. Endless, free conversations and so much more. And I can talk with my family in Canada

    Hi CT,

Well yes. I've been quite busy lately. I've got some new duties. But don't worry - I'm ok. Hey, I like your new signature

Yes, Skype is very nice, indeed. What a wonderful thing to see, hear and speak to someone on the other side of the world...for FREE! David and I did have quite a nice long chat the other night.

    Ah, technology. Ain't it grand?
