Seeing that RoJo is somewhat *incognito* these days I wish to share a piece with her and MIMF. Since she is a Ravel fan I think she might like the very overt references to a most famous and tricky piano work by Ravel:

Yup; definitely some familiar bits and pieces in there. Nice hommage; I enjoy hearing Ravel's influence in the works of later composers. I quite like the piece in itself too; it works quite well. I don't think it's typical Sciarrino fare, except perhaps in terms of the importance of sonorities; at times the piano sounds so very like a harp. I think I still prefer Gaspard though. :smirk:

The composer has an interesting approach to music and composing...

Yep, I like *Gaspard de la Nuit* more. I had never heard of Sciarrino until yesterday morning - what a surprise for a blockhead like me.
