Ms. Margaret - The *pierced one* you posted was quite un-nerving. When the natives in different African or South Central American countries have piercings or other *appurtenances* they're not as shocking anymore as what we see these days in the major Northern Hemisphere countries.

Yes I agree, the native have theirs because it is a tradition. But I'm afraid some people in the western world have piercings, and it looks horrifying.

Your Mayan people used to do body piercing and drill holes in their teeth
to put in jewels. Their smile looked like someone with jeweled braces.
Weird! I could imagine the sight now!

    Ms. Margaret,

You are incontrovertibly correct about native traditions. Westerners do it because its a fad and they want to draw attention to themselves. Yes, they'll get my attention alright - I become repulsed by their self-mutilation. I guess self-mutilation is easier than learning how to write prose that will put food on the table, pay the bills, and put money in the bank. Or learning fine arts or performing arts...................

    Cheers,

Some people say they do it to be individualistic, well I am not that desperate.

It is not a pretty sight, and another reason for someone not to employ them.

I am not sure where it was taken, but judging by the snow and Ice, Canada sounds about right.

Now it is 11.15pm time for my beauty sleep

    Good night to all.
