Hi all,

My name is Johan and live in Belgium, I just restarted to listen to classic music, at the moment I have the 101 classical hits released by EMI. Can you suggest som other CD or recordings. I specially like Bach, Handel, Dvorak

thanks in advance and a happy new year to all.

Hi Johan, welcome to MIMF...I'm sure we have a lot here who can suggest your request. I merely listen from the radio or the internet. :)

You could also try http://www.last.fm/home Enter a composer or performer in the search box and build up a library of albums and tracks, download the software to play the library on your PC and listen on your PC. It will also give you some information about the track playing usually including the album it is from and a link to Amazon or Itunes if you wish to purchase.

I would suggest changing your library from time to time as some repeats can become over familiar after a few days!!

 Welcome to MIMF, Johan :)

The users above have given you wonderful advice. This is so typical for this forum community, always reaching out to other musicians, helping in such a positive way.

We look forward to seeing you about the boards here. Enjoy!

Welcome Johan,

Well, for Bach there are the marvellous cantatas and the 'Well Tempered Clavier', and then the concertos, and.....and !!! LOL ! With Handel the Op. 3 Concerto Grosso series are great as is the opera 'Rinaldo' and many others. Dvorak is a favourite of mine and I will try to make a thread on him soon.

There are many treasures here on this forum, for sure.

Best wishes

Robert
