    Schubert Songs

    1/7

One of Schubert’s most beautiful songs.

    Franz Schubert - (1797-1828)
    ‘An Sylvia’
    Op. 106 No. 4
    D. 891
(German lyrics by Eduard von Bauernfeld (1802-1890). Based on a text in English from William Shakespeare’s ’Merchant of Venice’).
Soloist - Anne Sophie van Otter
    Arranged with Orchestral Accompaniment Coe/Abbado

Thank you for that Robert, it is a beautiful song. We used to sing the English version at school.

The lamented Fritz Wunderlich - what a sad way to die so young.

Surely one of the best voices of the century.

    Yes Artrock,

Wunderlich was a wonderful tenor. One of the most talented of them all.
