British Nurse Suspended for Offering to Pray for a Patient

The United Kingdom, already 'reaping what it sows' these days, seems determined to invite more problems. Here's a picture of the level to which things have fallen. The suspension from employment of a nurse who offered to pray for a patient under her care. It's on radio, television and in the newspapers.

    Shame on the UK !

And the reason ? Well, the offer did NOT cause offence to the patient. But it was considered by her managers that it 'MIGHT cause offence to other people' !!!!!!!!

    Crazy, or what ??

I guess the expression "freedom of worship" slowly becomes an anachronism.
It is not crazy, it is just a tendency. Crazy is, when the society says OK to the buses bearing "There is probably no God - enjoy your life" and at the same time shows a certain preoccupation about the low birth rates in modern Europe. One must have, at least, a common sense...And one must at least realise what comes next.

Well I think what happened is totally stupid. All she did was offer to pray for a patient, the patient said they didn't mind, and if they did all they needed to say was no thank you. Suspending her was out of order, it is getting crazy when you can't do something like that. Why should we change what we do just in case we offend someone, if they don't like it all they have to do is say so.

That is crazy! I think that they should not be able to do that, because the girl did ask if should could pray for them other then just doing it.

That is just wrong for UK do they actually disrepct God that much?

That doesn't just happen in England, it happens here. A kid at school
I heard on television somewhere was suspended for blessing his or her
food. What do I have to say. Get a grip! I find vulgar stuff defensive
on the tube and in public, but that doesn't get stopped when someone
is talking nasty and vulgar. Profanity should be stopped instead.

This incident of the nurse is one of a series of recent black check marks against Britain. For a person to show compassion and concern for another person, though their offer is refused, and for it to be used as reason to suspend her from her post, is a clear sign of a collision between good and evil -

And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman and every free man hid themselves in dens and in the rocks of the mountains. And said to the mountains and rocks, 'Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne. For the great day of his wrath is come, and who shall be able to stand ?'.

The imminence of such things is very real and nothing but doing unto others as we would have done unto ourselves will delay them.

    Again -

''Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us''.

    Aloha Mr. Newman,

Yes, the wholesale persecution of Christians is accelerating at an alarming rate. Of course, a great witness to faith, mercy, charity, and humbleness is Mother Teresa and her indefatigable work amongst the outcasts in India. Her memory worldwide and self-sacrifice will outshine anything that the *enthroned pharoah hussein* in Baghdad-on-the-Potomac and his janissaries do.

    Yes C.D.,

History is full of outstanding, selfless individuals who have pioneered in giving of themselves as Christians in the care of the weakest and most vulnerable. The Salvation Army, the child charity Barnardos, and countless other charities worldwide. Indeed, the caring professions here in the UK are stunned by this recent news. On an individual level these recent events represent the rise of a selfish, uncharitable, brutal and careless attitude towards mankind which should be exposed and condemned by any person, regardless of their beliefs.

Had to jump into this (luke warm) subject once I had read it through.
It seems to me that the only religion which can be censored in England is Cristianity. Quite a few employees have be repremanded or even sacked for wearing a small cross on a chain. I am certainly not picking on Moslems ( I have both friends and clients of that faith) but it has just been decreed that a cross is a health hazard (?) but Moslems may break the rule and wear long sleeves even thou this practice is banned in hospitals for the same reason. The words lunatics and asylums spring to mind. why can we not have religious equality for everyone? I personally know of no Muslims who would object to a display of faith. Once again it is the PC element.

What can we do about it. Is the situation reversible in our lifetime?

Actaully, I'll clarify that, the Western World is politically correct to the hilt, not so sure about Arabia, the Africas and Asia.
