Farewell Internet Explorer!!!

Just wanted to send a short happy message - I have just installed the Firefox - feel like I got wings!! Or like the speed of my DSL modem had suddenly and drastically increased.

If you ( like me, poor wretch ) have OS VISTA installed on your PC and not a good ole XP anymore - looks like Mozilla is the solution for us. IE seems to have an insoluble conflict with Vista ( or the guys from MS are too lazy to fix it ). So, after IE had several times collapsed by an attempt to open MySpace, I have finally decided - RIP ! And the Firefox runs - at least for now - absolutely flawless. So, a VISTA user can enjoy surfin' once again ( like in good ole XP days ):):):):)!!!

Way to go, Andrew:)

Ah, good old XP. I still got it and now I see why I'm satisfied. Also, I've been using Firefox for almost two years now. I can't even imagine using IE again. Sometimes I have to and it's so painful. It takes ages for a site to upload:rolleyes:. A new 3.0 version of Firefox has been released recently. Any experiences anyone? Better or worse than it's old version?

I have vista and IE, no problems whatsoever. I have tried FireFox a couple of times (including 3.0), but in the end I always come back to IE.

Right On, Andrew ... hey, whatever works best for you.

I have a 5 year old PC with XP (SP3) and have been using Firefox for about a year now. After all the page load hangs and the inane security crap built into IE, I abandoned it forever .. in fact uninstalled IE7 completely.

As for Firefox v 3.0.6, it seems to be a little slower than the 2.* versions ... apparently Mozilla is aware of this and is working on a resolve. I have cable internet connection.

I was beginning to think already, the Windows Vista was a part of the universal plot ( with the order of templars, free masons...etc....behind it ) - against me!!!

Well, look at it. Very few musical plug-ins ( like Native Instruments ) function properly with this damn platform. Lots of plug-ins simply refuse to do it at all. I can't run a host SONAR 7 pro with VISTA - no updates help!!! Only an old version of SONAR - 3.0 pro works somehow ( how weird is this? ) . Vista uses to send me some imbecile messages time after time ( like Windows sheduler does not function anymore - ICH WEISS ES, BLÖDE KUH!!!! DEN HABE ICH JA SELBER AUSGESCHALTET UND DIR BESCHEID GESAGT, VERDAMMT NOCH MAL!!! ).

And, the IE was the last drop - they ( free masons !!! ) wanted to rectrict my access to MySpace!!!

So, MOZILLA is my ultimate answer! They won't get me that easy!!!!

Regards to all,
very fierce Andrew

I've been using Mozilla for a while now, and am generally very pleased with it. At the moment, my home PC is a decade-old Dell (rhymes with "hell") with WinXP SP2 (will NOT upgrade to SP3). IE on this computer is a joke.

I use Firefox too, but have to keep IE for some things, like downloading MP3s from Amazon. The only thing I miss from IE7 was being able to click for opening a new tab instread of having to use <ctrl> T. I managed to get two PCs with XP on about 2 years ago, must have been some of the last!!

Mike,

The easy access to tabs' opening in Firefox is available as well. You just need to right-click on the toolbar, click adjust (or customize?), find *New Tab* icon and then drag and drop it on the toolbar.

I translated all the terms literally from Polish so they might turn out to be slightly different in English.

Hi Mat,

I have FF v 3.06 installed and just love it. Browsing is a breeze, downloads, especially when combined with DAP (download accelerator plus) makes downloads occur at between 4-6 MB/sec and has a wealth of add-ons for things such as translators or just about whatever you can think of.

The ONLY time I use IE is for downloading updates from microsoft if I am compelled to. Pulled all my bookmarks over from IE and have never looked back.

I don't notice any real difference between the former version, all I can share with you is that for a browser program, it rocks!

Seems like little by little, microsoft is going bye bye.

Another way to accomplish this is by Tools, Options, Tabs, and select option "open new tab" so clicking the plus sign opens a new tab page. I normally have 6 to 8 tabs open at a time, especially if I am posting links here on the forum.

Hi Greatcyber,

I've got the tab icon on my toolbar. I'd rather open a new tab by one clik than by some kind of Ctrl+T combination. Also, if you work with tabs a lot you should check the Colorful Tabs add-on out. I've been using it for several months now and it really helps keep your work organised.

Hi guys,

Does anyone know how to move all the favorites (bookmarks) in IE to a new folder or how to remove them all at once?
