Thanks for sharing this, CD!
Typical Dupré, with the unavoidable canon (at around 3' into the clip).
If I am not mistaken, the clip was actually copied from http://orgelconcerten.ncrv.nl, a treasure of an archive, containing many other gems.
Aloha acc - My pleasure it is to serve.......
I never tire of hearing the CC at Sulpice, St. Ouen, La Madeleine, St. Etienne de Caen, St. Sernin, Sacre Coeur, or La Trinité. And then the Masters who, as if by magic, paint a wonderful sound canvas. Dupre's art, imho, became so highly developed because of his exposure to CC's dream-machine at Sulpice.
Thanx for that fascinating website entitled *OrgelConcerten.*
Cheerio,

*If a man wants God to hear his prayer quickly, then before he prays for anything else, even his own soul, when he stands and stretches out his hands towards God, he must pray with all his heart for his enemies. Through this action God will hear everything that he asks* -Abba Zeno-

*Socrates: "My opinion is: Truth is absolute, not opinion, and that you are in absolute error. Since this is my opinion, then according to your philosophy you must grant that it is true."

Indeed. There appears to be much to investigate.
I also agree with you regarding the sound of instruments by Aristide Cavaillé-Coll - although that at La Trinité has been somewhat altered on a number of occasions - often at the behest of Olivier Messiaen, Titulaire for many years.
The organ at La Madeleine is also a little different, having had eleven stops added over three occasions. 1957, 1971 and 1988.It is still a good sound, though.
Thanks, that was magical. He was in a different league from most improvisers!
