    MOLLER 370 virtual Organ

    Hello
Here is the latest VPO I have made, with the pipes sampled by my friend Alfred.
This virtual instrument is designed especially to work with MyOrgan (a freeware program) to emulate the colour, texture and timbral qualities of a true physical pipe organ. The historical name “Moller” was chosen because the console configuration of this maker was used as the on-screen model. The sampled pipes, however, originate from two actual instruments by Casavant (1949) and Kney (1977) -- unusual, in that they are both located in the same Kitchener Ont. (Canada) church, and tuned together. These pipe samplings were found to match most compatibly with the Moller console layout, as shown.
To see it, to get it : please, visit this page of my site. For an audio demo, see "the house of the rising sun" pasacaglia in the pipe organ forum.

    Hello

I have a problem playing the Kitchiner/Moller organs! Can anyone help?

Have been using MyOrgan for sometime now on my PC with 1Gig of memory and Windows XP without difficulty. I use a Yamaha Midi interface and use the built in sound card on the pc which seems to work fine.

Recently got a new lap top with 3Gig of memory and windows vista home premium. I downloaded the Kitchiner and Moller organ samples. They have been downloaded successfully but when I play notes on my keyboard they seem to stick and keep sounding. I have checked and updated my USB Yamaha Midi interface and this is using the most uptodate drivers. Is the problem the sound card on the lap-top and if so how can I fix the problem. Does anyone know?

    Regards.

    Hi Jm,
It sounds more like a MIDI problem that a soundcard problem... download MIDI-OX (http://www.midiox.com/) and set it up to monitor your MIDI interface (if this is greek to you just let us know and we'll talk/write you through it). Play MyOrgan and see if you are getting both Note-On and Note-Off messages. If you are, then the MIDI should be OK.

Do you use any other MIDI software? That would be another way to test the MIDI of the Vista system...

What is your laptop sound interface? Have you tried using the generic ASIO driver (ASIO4ALL) with it?

Hope this helps you find a solution,
    GrahamG

    Hi Jmcepher

Graham is right, it is a midi problem. MyOrgan plays a note when it receives a Midi Note-on message. The note stays On until MyOrgan receive the Midi note-off message. If this message never arrives the note keep playing. It happens very often with software sequencers, it is the reason why MyOrgan has a Panic Button.
Just tell me please : when a note stays ON, does the key of this note on the screen console remains red ?
TRy to play MyOrgan with a software (sequencer or score editor) using Midiox and tell us if the problem is only with the keyboard or both with keyboard and software.

    Hi folks,

Thanks for your quick responses to my problem. I agree the problem is a midi problem. I loaded a different organ on to my lap-top and it has the same difficulty. The notes stay red that are sounding however not all notes that are pressed will sound. The panic button then clears matters.

I can get it all to work perfectly on my old system which suggests that the problem is with the Midi interface (Yamaha UX16) and windows vista. When I update the drivers I am told that I am using the most uptodate drivers but now when I load My organ I am told that there are no Midi Devices attached. All seems a bit weird.

    Regards,
    James.

    Hi James,
What happens in MIDI-OX in Vista? When you click on Options -> MIDI Devices what do you see?

You may need to post to the Yamaha forum to find out how to best get the UX16 device working in Vista...

    Hi
I hope you do not believe that there is a problem with the Moller virtual organ.
MOLLER 370 is really a very good organ, and Jmcpher1's trouble is a private problem with his Midi setting, not with this organ.

I propose to you to listen a new demo. You can hear in this demo a baroque music created by a computer with Bach Music Composer software. registration used is only preset n°2 played on great and swell. The sound is raw, no reverb has been added, it is only the natural reverb of the church.

    Moller 380-trp

    Hi
This new virtual organ is a free bonus for those who will get the Moller 370 organ. It is almost the same organ, but with a big add-on : a trumpet (not an organ trupet stop, but a saxhorn played by a friend of mine).

THIS IS A SPECIAL ORGAN FOR PLAYING "ORGAN & TRUMPET" MUSIC

This organ is designed for the trumpet to be played on the mini-keyboard and/or on swell.

    Hi Jean-Paul,
What a great idea to add a mini keyboard for the trumpet (which sounds wonderful, BTW). I have the concept to do the same thing with a carillon on a 2 octave keyboard once I no longer use it to play the pedals as I am doing now. Now there is another option. Trumpet has always been one of my favourite stops on the pipe organ.

Congrats! And I hope all is going well for you.

I would like to thank Jean-Paul for this VPO. It was designed around the stops listed on the first console I converted - Moller Opus 11045. I wanted to comment on the VPO samples at the time he released them, but I had not gotten to work with them until recently. It is a wonderful sounding set of samples that work extremely well together - especially on my console!

    Thank You, Jean-Paul!!!

    new virtual organ in progress

Thanks Stephen and Jay for your comments.

I am preparing a little surprise for Hauptwerk-3 user (free and not free version) : a set of 3 organs for only 20 euros (not 20 each but 20 for the full package).
The first one, BASIC, is the virtual version of the organ of Marennes.
Only one manual (and a pedalboard which does not exist in the real organ)
    7 stops.

The second MEDIUM is an enhanced version, 1 manual, one pedal and more stops. New stops are made using Marennes original stops
The 3rd, GREAT, with 2 manuals and many stops.
Each of these organ needs less than 500 Mb of Ram memory so suits small computers. Available for september, may be before if I can.

See the manufacturing progress on my page Facebook or my site.
